Things have gone down hill since Call of Duty 4 but this game does look fun.

These series that come every year or two are just rehashing the same old stuff and never really evolve the story for the campaigns, the only thing keeping them playable is the multi-player and that's about it. Otherwise we will get the same crap year after year even if the developers are different.

Let's just hope for a new IP from Respawn entertaiment (infinity ward) Because they are killing Call of duty like they did the Saw movies

It has nothing to do with Treyarch, but I won't be getting this installment, (as I passed over WaW also until Gamefly sent it to me). I'm just burned out on Call of Duty. I really enjoy their campaigns, but they're awfully short and I don't spend enough time online enjoying myself to keep playing.

Just a shame that Activision has to drive another likeable franchise into the ground by oversaturating the market with it.

All this black ops hype is reaffirming my decision to never play the game again. Even claiming its colse to the best FPS ever is just wrong

I hope people look into The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. The series doesn't have the best animation, but the writing holds up. (Well, if you enjoy absurd and slightly dark commentary.)

All this Black Ops hype is making me rather excited for Bad Company Vietnam.

I for one will not buy this one new, for them screwing over the creators of call of duty I'll gladly go without their not getting anymore of my money til they set it right! Activision kills everything they touch. Besides they bite off more movies and Halo then I thought possible in one game. Treyarch and Activision is lame

"How can I miss you...if you won't go away." Love that line and sums up part of my feelings toward the CoD franchise.

too many sequels too soon are almost always a bad thing and will kill a franchise.

Once again, Adam, you've said it better than anyone else could. I'll be playing Black Ops, sure, but the same excitement that surrounded Modern Warfare 2, and before that World at War, and so one, is definitely diminished. Also, thank you for pointing out Mass Effect 2, that is still my favorite game of the year and I still hope other developers look at its evolution and use it as a guide to grow their franchises (or start new ones?).

It already has killed the franchise for me, and is why I'm not going to buy black ops, now matter how good the hyped reviews are.
