I TOTALLY agree with Adam Sessler! I have been bullied all my life and be it online, or in real life it still hurts more than people know! I am now 24 years old, and I put a stop to being bullied my sophmore year in high school, I WILL NOT TAKE IT NOW! I also stand up for others who are being bullied! The jerks(dicks) that do this type of crap either don't think it matters, or just don't care about others, or do it to make themselves look better! Which it does matter, and it doesn't make the bully look better...it makes them look worse and like a jerk! I am sure that most ppl would agree with me when I say "We all play games for fun, to enjoy the experience, to meet other ppl, and to just relax! So don't be a jerk to others, its not right, neither in real-life, or online!" Just grow up ppl, and play right, don't be a jerk, and be as nice as you possibly can, because you never know what will happen, or who your words will affect in the long-run! Who wants some other person's pain or suicide on their shoulder's? I know I sure don't, I've been there, and seen what it can do to ppl....trust me its scary and WRONG!!!!

Take away some of the anonymity of the internet and a lot of the problem would be solved. If that kid s real name were associated with his online tag he wouldn't say half the crap he spews. It is a shame that Blizzard scrapped the real ID forum posting. That game needs a lot of help in the trolling department.

Amen, Adam. Keep up the good work and keep encouraging people to step in. Until this country starts to open its little puppy-dog eyes, there will always be oppression of minorities. The sea change that we need to see in America can only happen AFTER parents decide they need to deal with their jerk offspring.

Yea, well said Adam. The thing about online bullying is that its easier and takes less guts to talk crap online (gaming) if that person is across the country. The bullies of today use words, the bullies of yesterday were usually bigger than me haha

Bullying, to a degree, will always exist. That's not the point I believe Adam is trying to convey however. The point is that we make sure that there is also always people that are willing to stand up to bullies and stand up for the victims. Let them know they have friends and they are loved. It's impossible to make everyone in the world stop being a jerk but it is possible to let them and their victims know that the jerks are the minority and the rest of us won't stand for their crap.

It sucks that there are bullies and trolls out there whose entire purpose in life is to be a bunch of idiots, but suicide is not the way out. People who commit suicide are selfish cowards who are only thinking about themselves. They don't care about the effect it has on those around them. They just want to take the "easy" way out. If they thought for one second about how it would effect there mom, dad, brother, sister, best friend, husband, wife, children, etc. there is no way they could end their life, and if they could cause that much harm to everyone then we are probably better of without them.

there are always going to be bully's; everyone needs to learn to endure them at some point.... you can try to shield people, but then once they go into the real world and are bullied, they won't know how to handle it; and i think thats the reason for a lot of suicides.

good topic sess and really struck a cord with me, I was bullied to the point of near sucide, by the time I was 14 I coudn't stand see people being picked onI nearly got expelled for beating up people I saw as bully, but then I got to reading and found voilence doesnt cancel out a bully aswell as I hoped. I then found that mind truly is a great weapon, bullies are so easly confused and they're egos are so easly shattered. I was unlucky because I never had anyone stand up for me when I got bullied but I never let that destroy my faith in people. When I talked to other social out casts I learned nearly all had the same belief that all people are bad. I agree with Adam simply throwing in your disaproval can make a huge difference in a kids life.

I find it interesting that in this difficult time in my life, everybody seems to be talking about the same thing. I'm not a popular kid. I have self-esteem issues and many others, I wouldn't say I'm ugly or out of style, I guess I'm about average, but I'm incredibely lonely. And recently I've been depressed about every small bad thing in my life and how I can't seem to do anything to change it. But every time I turn on the tv theres some show on that gives me a life lesson I didn't realize before. Its kind of funny. I mean, I know its only a coincidence and I had no impression on whether this was posted or anything. I just think its funny that, when I'm the most lonely, I've noticed everyone is telling the "loser" kids to be happy and that life wont suck so much later on. So, thanks. Life's been a bitch, but based on what everyone says, eventually it gets better. Thanks.

Bravo, Sessler. The ignorance of some people online is astounding. Whenever I hear any of those key words on XBL I file a complaint and block that user.

There was one case in the past when I first moved to where I live now. I was really sheltered from the world by not changing my environment from a military base to an ordinary neighborhood, but of my personal faith. Even on my first day from school people teased me because of how innocent I was, and how much I was proper and respectful to everyone whom I was around.

One day after getting so frustrated from being bullied I wept at home and told my mother that I did not even want to go back. If so I was at the point of killing them and burn the place to the ground. Remind you this was at a point before I even got serious about playing games or even having a console in the house. Now, when I am online, I can't even believe the basic language that these young people are saying and wondering even why they are playing the same games that I am. This generation of YP is so damaged from the fact that there is no actual support from the previous ones. I guarantee you all that if we were in the age of the Atari era and possibly late 90's these sort of issues would not be bad as it is now. In some way, I do support this gaming bill that is being debated. The only thing that needs to be done is that the parents either have to grow back bones or the government (unfortunately) should. Something should happen to ensure that this country will have a strong future of people when they become of age to take over.

Well said Adam! He's right! The good guys, the majority needs to take a stand and rebuke this crap on-line. Remember, the jerks will rule if you let them. And kids, endure, it does get a WHOLE lot better as you get older.
