Feedback -- Halo: Reach, Post-Tokyo Game Show Edition
On this week's Feedback, Kevin Kelly, Abbie Heppe, J.P. Shub, and Nikole Zivalich discuss TGS 2010, Halo: Reach, and it's always good to have a pheromone-filled water gun.

    TGS:What is a Xbox360!!!

Not only was it Nikole's responsibility not to say that but g4tv.com had every chance to edit that or bleep that out... they can throw in adam's obscure references but they can't bleep a spoiler?

I literally made an account on this site to say the following. What in the world could you be thinking just spitting out a major spoiler? I just quit watching the episode halfway through from fear you might ruin some other game that I haven't bought yet. Thank you, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.

I'd rather have Dana or Morgan on Feedback than Nikole

Some of us in the who have jobs and lives don't have time to beat a campaign in just a week... let alone necessarily purchase the game on day one. I do understand a certain risk in listening to a video game podcast but no other talkers on Feedback have ever (to my memory) just thrown an ending out there like that. Months of looking forwarrd to a game ruined in a few seconds. Thanks a bunch.

If you like creepy things Abbie you should check out Amnesia: The Dark Descent. That's a good creepy game that just came out...

    !!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!
2/3rds-expected Abbie to host this week's Feedback, since she's a veteran panelist and all, but whatevs. {{shrug}} Maybe next time (that Adam/Matt is absent)..??
[Or is Kevin being groomed to be the new main host of Feedback??]

    LoL! Rage-Quitters!
They already have this preset emblem in Halo's armor customization called the "MARK OF SHAME".
The visual identifier punishment for these Rage-Quitters should be Bungie changing their emblem, & locking it, to be the Mark of Shame emblem. Oh! And one of the Armor Effects in Reach is Pestilence!!

Hahahah!! Mark of Shame & Pestilence as punishment for Rage-Quitters. XD

However, some people just have terrible connection, J.P. - might wanna take that into consideration.
Even though I've already finished the Reach campaign in time [prior to this ep. of Feedback] & already knew of Jun's fate (as far as campaign goes; not considering what the novel says about Jun's status), I still have to agree with some of the people here - its only been over a WEEK, and Nikole already "spoiled" Jun's status.
[Last I checked] IGN doesn't even have their walkthrough of Reach completed yet, so a lot of people are still working through campaign.
Baaadd Forrmm. This isn't The Game Show, Nikole; Should've paused a bit longer between "Spoiler Alert!" & "Jun...". Just saying.

"Scientist Lady" = Dr. Catherine Halsey (creator of the Spartan Program, Mjolnir Armor, & Cortana)
Knowing her/her name is tantamount to the existence of & knowing the Spartans; and is paramount to the Halo Universe & playing Halo games. Especially for a self-professed Halo fan.
For DLC, I wish Bungie would include a Space Combat playlist. That would just be AWESOME, and a refreshing, welcome change of pace.
Abbie brings up a good perspective about Capcom working with the Western Developers & Microsoft supporting the Japanese Developers. Maybe Capcom & Microsoft Game Studios should work together on future games (thats NOT Lost Planet)??

Bungie said that the assassination animations purposely take that long since it's the in-game, spiritual successor to tea-bagging; and Bungie has warned everyone of the risk involved in performing one - they won't be tweaking the animation's time duration, unless its to fix the certain animations that get cut short due to the style/circumstance of the assassination.

Here's a tip though, from Defend The House (of Halo Reach Mythbusters fame):
"When performing on a moving surface, assassination animations will be cut short".
Yeahhh!! J.P. & Nikole!! Kingdom Hearts fans, unite!! (^_^)
Awesome that there's now a balance of genders on the panel, though. (^_^) Thanks, guys!
And I agree with the others - J.P. Shub should be a Feedback mainstay (Patrick's successor). =D

I swear, each time i watch this i 'swoon' over Abbie just a little bit more. Meh, my g/f would understand, she is kinda awesome.

First of, dear sweet jebus does Bioshock infinite look amazing. Holy crap!

And glad to hear you kiddies are enjoying Reach!

Also, Kevin, I hope your on Feedback more! I enjoy you're opinions. Same goes to J.P.

I hope J.P. returns to Feedback more often. If Matt Keil and J.P. Shub merged into one person, the resulting entity would die from hideous mutations, but the last few words articulated by that thing would be funny, engaging, and ultimately heartwarming beyond belief.

Clutch!!!! Damn good to see a fan talk about video games. We're a superior breed of people, J.P. Our opinions are, automatically, more valid than those of all the other lesser primates.

Nicole, the books say Jun died while defending Dr. Halsey.

Great show. I look forward to this each week, but but the Canon footage is looking pretty shotty compared to the HVX's. Just wanted to drop you a heads up. Geeking out a little, but I'm a film student at ASU, cut me a break.

Why is Nikole Z. even there. She says like 100 words the whole show. Her biggest contribution was to anger a lot of people by spoiling Reach, and then making a "B" word comment after Kevin tries to tell her that was a no-no. "It's like an 8 hour campaign." I understand she is a guest but so was J.P. and he contributed greatly, and it was his first time. I know a lot of people like to look at her, and ZOMG a girl who like video games!!!!! I It sadly would have been just as good a show without her. If you want her back G4, please encourage her to add something to the show.

Everyone else, great show as always. I like this group, minus Nikole, plus Adam.

Just gotta say - Nikole is great, and I am sitll missing TGS - maybe do a top7 every so often on here to replace it?

Also, there are a fair few Japanese games made in a Western style, but that retain their Japanese heritage - both Domon's Souls (many sites choice of GOTY last year, disppointing no mention of it in the G4 list) and Yakuza 3 clearly were influenced (the first by the Western hack and slash RPGs, and the second by GTA style open world games) but retained enough of their heritag to be unique, and both did relatively well.

Also - I (mainly as I missedthe PS2 era games as didn't have a PS2 at the time) would *LOVE* to see a PS2 Ratchet and Clank collection in glorious HD. I can already imagine Adam's reaction to it too ...

He doesn't look emo. He looks like a homeless. So i say homeless Dante is okay with me. Also it looks like he's trying to kick crack and was in detox but escaped, and those demons was just trying to stop him from scoring.

I love it when the Japanese make a game for a broader (western) audience. When it happens they still retain that Asian flavor of it. Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Bayonetta, No More Heroes. Its still Japanese but has this other side to it that's very appealing to me others I know. I'm glad that different Eastern and Western studios are coming together to make a blend of awesomeness. I' a big anime fan and some of my favorites are set in time or places and characters that's not Japanese at all but still maintains that feel or style. Black Lagoon, Hellsing Ultimate, Berserk, Monster, Baccano!
