it pisses me off when big companies do this. they introduce a "new" item that really has just ONE new feature and they constantly mention that one new feature to audiences to try and trick them that it is brand new. not just microsoft, but all big companies. screw them all.

I have never had a problem with the D-Pad myself. Any improvements would be a slight advantage for me. Now let's hope that each console comes out with a perfect design when they release a next-gen console within the next 10 years.

wow! a new controller..... how about a x-box 360 that doesn't breakdown, make that happen and maybe, just maybe, i'll consider betraying my PS3 Slim .....which neither is going to happen,...ever. good luck Microsuck!

    1. its stupid that you have to get the play and charge kit and 2 it's dumb that they took away the color. thats how i learned to play the xbox when i was younger.

Wow... people here are either plain stupid or just trolling I mean honestly how the heck is it a rip off if you don't need it just buy the older model hell just stick with the controller you already own.

how is it expensive? I mean really a wiimote and numchuck costs about $60 and its not rechargeable and the dual shock controllers are $55... and you guy's are saying its too expensive when he never even mentioned the price...

SO now prove me wrong, how is this a rip off if you don't need, they aren't requiring you to buy it, and it is most likely only 60-65 dollars.

so go on how is this a rip off.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I don't really use the D-pad enough to warrant this, and the little I use it for it works fine. (I'm typically only concerned with 4-directions than 8, though I know it sucks if you're trying to get 8 out of it.) I really wonder just how many people are that concerned about the d-pad. And in this economy, I'm certainly not trying to spend that much on a controller when I could buy a game instead and use the controllers I already have that work fine for me.

It is def a welcome change. I'm not to much of a joystick guy so there's been several games I've been really wanting to play ( Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6) but really hate the old d-pad with a passion . Def a day one buy for me plus the button color scheme looks awesome.

I think its pretty cool, my current controller is going to die pretty soon (its 4 years old!) I might pick this up.

New controller, how great...... kind of. The d-pad improvement is a plus, but does it really have to be in bundle? Does Microsoft not have confidence in their product that took "years" of research to "improve". Color scheme is more modern, pretty sweet. I'm sure the gaming industry(especially Microsoft) will take note of the d-pad disc thing and utilize it more into their games. As a gamer as long it has buttons, brings a good flow or rhythm with it's layout towards my games, feels good in the hands, and can withstand abuse from a raging geek. If they release this way earlier, it would have made more of an impact, we already adapted to what we have and kick ass with it. I'll buy it to see how it is.

Bring back the N64 layout! That was the shizzle!

It's too late, M$ failed this generation. They haven't gotten a single thing right compared to the competition and trying to fix it now is just not going to help one bit.
