a lot of people are interested in 3d but most of us cant afford it, or at least are interested in spending $3000 on a TV just so I can play gran turismo 5 and killzone 3 ( which seem to be great games, but what else is there...?)
maybe in a few years when developers start making games specially for 3d like killzone 3 is doing, and not just convert it.

    RE: Used software ruling

    I applaud.

Gamestop has been getting rich off of the developers' and publishers' dimes for way too long. Unfortunately, I feel like even if EA and Activision and Capcom and so forth all went after them with a vengeance, GS would just throw a ton of money at lobbying for more software distribution reform. What would be nice is if GS decided that, hey, maybe these nice, hard-working individuals WHO MADE THE PRODUCT WE'RE SELLING deserve a little cash for the resale of used games.

    @ Dana V

In response to your reply Dana, My apologies, my intention was not to attack. You are perfectly welcome to your opinion, as am I. Unfortunately your opinion is broadcast around the world to fans who want to hear intelligent discussion and information rather than feeling that they and their choice are the butt of sarcastic comments. The fact that i happen to not agree with you is unrelated to the fact that The staff continues to be shocked and offended by claims of inequity in reporting, when the evidence is present in this particular podcast. After reading your reply, i was affirmed in my previous statement that there is an almost default reaction on the part of your staff to be surprised and offended that fans send angry posts feeling there is bias. I am not one of them, and i make no generalizations as a point of practice, i don't necessarily believe the opinions expressed by the panel represent G4 as a whole. However, the evidence is incontrovertible that this episode of the podcast was rife with one sided opinions about what is essentially the same thing as Microsoft achievements but in a Sony wrapper. So case in point, at no time did i insinuate that you or anyone at G4 is taking money from Microsoft, but yet, as the reply shows with your "comically sized check", there was some nerve hit by my comment. Simply put, if you mock your fans choices, don't be surprised when they lash out at you, they look to you for information and entertainment, not embarrassment.

    Adam: Great as always
Nicole: Yeah you had some good info and you weren't ugly but Gosh dang your voice is annoying
Dana: You spoke your opinion with your head high and I respect that and ALSO you look like Bayonetta.
Jake: Thanks for understanding the message Sony is making with Move. Sony SAID, "Don't pre-order it" Sony SAID, "It won't sell well on the first day" Sony SAID, "It'll probably get around through word of mouth." and you understood and looked at the POTENTIAL of the device instead of the games because that's how Sony wanted it.

    LoL! Adam..
"There's more obstacles in the street when I'm driving."
..He makes it sound like he's playing real life GTA. XD
    ----------
And I thought it was Nikole "ZI-valich", not "zi-VA-lich"??
    {{shrug}} Oh well
    ----------
    Yayy; Nikole's very first Feedback!!
    Good job, Nikole! (^_^)
Although, you could've stood to have spoken more, in the first half of the discussion.
It felt like you were holding back some input, or were just unsure of what to say.
But I guess I'm just used to your more opinionated self in The Game Show. {{shrug}} =)
    Long Live The Game Show!
    ----------
    Yeah-haaa, Jake's back on Feedback!
Its been a while, Jake! Long time no see! =)
    ----------
And its AMAZING how SPOT-ON Jake's prediction was on Halo Reach's sales - $200 million.
    Props.
    ----------
Yes, Adam..in the game (Halo Reach), thats what they're called - the Moa.
    ----------
    @Dana V:

    Halo ODST = Halo 2.5
It fits in between Halo 2 & Halo 3.
When you leave New Mombasa in Halo 2, thats when ODST picks up, and continues what goes on in New Mombasa, while Miranda Keyes & crew follows the Covenant ship through slipspace.
    ----------
    As for PSMove/M-Kinect..
..I don't think either peripheral's respective developers are gonna be marketing their peripheral until the proper, blockerbuster-ing games are developed along with it.
And right now, the only launch-games they have are mostly shovelware - which I see as a buffer/cushion & tech demos, to test the new technology.

    Here's something, though..
..It was showcased in TGS '10 that Steel Battalion will be re-launching for Kinect. =)
    ----------
    @NikoleZ:

Ehhh..Idk..There are a MYRIAD of good games in the pre-XBox Achievements era.
I think your statement totally dismissed all of those good games.
But I guess it was just an in-the-moment response that you didn't have much time to give much thought into.
    ----------
    @ Dana V:

    You don't use contacts, Dana?
Not fond of the idea of sticking a finger on your eye?
    ----------
    3D-gaming..
..The graphics from side-scroller Mario to N64 Mario, 3D?
Or 3D, like the recent bloom of 3D movies (e.g. Avatar), 3D?
If its the former, then YES, most gamers are interested in this, versus 2D games.
If its the latter, then uhmm..idk..its a nice feature to have, but not exactly necessary in gameplay..unless a developer makes it a necessary tool/gameplay mechanic in whatever game they'd make.
    ----------
And I'll have to agree with Nikole & Adam, in terms of the Playstation having had more of an impact in gaming, than Mario.
    ----------
    @NikoleZ:

Jake mentioned the PSMove functioning as a "lighter".
You guys should totally change the intro of The Game Show, so that, instead of the Wiimote being a lighter, its the PSMove!! (^_^)'
And then when the three controllers show up together,
instead of the Wiimote, XBox 360 controller (black), & PS3 controller (black),
you have the Wii Classic Pro controller (black, or Goldeneye's gold Classic Pro controller), XBox 360 controller (black, or the new silver w|new chrome d-pad), and the PSMove w|blue light.
    ----------
PSMove + Alan Wake = BRILLIANT!!!
    Omg, and Dead Space!!!

Hahahah..they need to attribute the use of the PSMove to Horror games. XD
    ----------
    @NikoleZ:

Your Wii's not plugged in? You don't like your Wii?

    How about..:
Black Wii Bundle? (w|Black Classic Pro controllers?)
    Nyko's Perfect Shot accessory?
    Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
    Zelda: Twilight Princess?
    Metroid Prime Trilogy?
    No More Heroes 1 & 2?
    Red Steel 2?
    House of the Dead: Overkill?
    Dead Space: Extraction?
    Tatsunoko vs. Capcom?
the upcoming Goldeneye 007 remake? (w|the golden gun Wiimote holder accessory?)
    ----------
If you guys noticed, Dead Space: Extraction - a previously Wii-exclusive game, is now migrating over to the PS3, since the PSMove has been developed. [WiiHD]
Just WAIT 'til the REST of the "hardcore" games on the Wii migrate over to the PS3.
    ----------
    Wait..
..For this week's Feedback, if Abbie & Kevin will be back, while Adam's in Chicago, who else will be in the panel???
    ----------
And now..the only lady left to grace the humble studio of Feedback is Moye. (^_^)
She's the only one left, to complete the pentagon [Abbie, Morgan, Dana, Nikole, & Moye].

Based on all of the comments about the newest member of the Feedback cast I think we can all assume that the target demographic is single males between the age of 18 and 25 that need more social interactions.

Snarky camment aside I think the most interesting and note worthy topic during this week's Feedback was the thing that recieved the smallest about of discussion this being the question of the week. I think this is a double edged sword so to speak. I think the intial response to this would be overwhelmingly negitive. When it comes down to it however we are gamers that being said we will pay for games regardless of whether they are new or used. If the sale of used products dose become illeagle I belive it will be in the best interest of the gaming community. If all the reveinue that was going in to used games was instead going to the people that make the games rather than game stop that not only provides more funding that will be used to create more and higher quality games but it may also drop the price of videogames as a whole. An idea that has be floating around for a long time is the idea of a graduated pricing system where higher quality games are the $60 titles while other titles that are still stong but just aren't worth the 60 bucks start at a 30 to 50 dollar price. I think that as it stands the game companies have to charge that $60 regardless of the quality of the game to make up for the revenue that they are lossing on used game sales. It is also a common tread for the price of games to drop as time goes on if all the money that a particular game was makeing (new and used) was going to the publisher/developer of the game we may see these price drops in a shorter period of time.

With all things consitered the illeaglization of the distirbution of used games may not be such a bad thing. Of corse this is probaly easyer for me to say due to may career choice.....

I think a lot of you guys are missing the point as far as the Super Mario Brothers vs. Playstation discussion. It's not whether you like one or the other more, but more so how either one revolutionized the gaming industry. And while the G4 crew and some of you think their is competition here; I don't think it is even a contest. Your comparing a gaming console to one long standing video game series. It's like a knife to a gunfight. Just off the top of my head, look at all things Playstation has done for the gaming industry:

    1) You've got discs and disc drives. Every future console since has adopted this format for video games. Discs are cheaper, easier to distribute, and hold more data.

    2) Game demos to try at home. This was possible because of all the factors in #1

    3) Controller schemes designed to conform to a human hand. This is a stupid reason but it's still there. The N64's controller looked like some kind of odd gadget I would find in a child's toy bin. Again, every console manufacturer since has adopted this concept in the design of their controllers.

    4) It brought real competition for console manufacturers. This is a very good thing for consumers. It encourages manufacturers to develop superior technology, better games, and economic competition.

    5) While the Super Mario series is numerous, just look how many games you have to compare it too. Their was many, many, classic games brought to us only by the Playstation. On one front, you have a ton of amazing RPGs. This includes Final Fantasy Tactics, 7, 8, and 9. You also have Chrono Cross, Breath of Fire III, Legend of Dragoon, Grandia, Xenogears, and the list just goes on and on from there. Then you have other game series such as Metal Gear Solid, Soul Reaver, and whatever the heck else I can think of. The bottom line here is their is more games on the Playstation that are just as great as the entire Super Mario Brothers series.

Every time I think of the Super Mario Brothers, all I can think of is what the series has done for Nintendo. Not the gaming industry as a whole. And to accredit Nintendo's successes with the Nintendo and Super Nintendo to just Super Mario Brothers alone is ridiculous. Their was still so many other titles that held Nintendo in those solo-company days. While Super Mario is a big part of that, I'm sure, it certainly wasn't all of it. It is all these games combined that kept Nintendo (and essentially most of the gaming industry itself) afloat during those years. When you consider all this, their is really no comparison when it comes down to which one has brought more innovations, as a whole, to the gaming industry. I'm sorry this was so long and so brutally honest you guys. I can't help but throw my two cents in.

I'm surprised that Adam honestly thinks the PS had more of an impact on gaming than Super Mario Brothers. Nintendo resurrected the dying video game industry in the mid '80s and Super Mario Brothers was a HUGE part of that. That's not even to mention the fact that the PS only exists because Nintendo went to Sony for a disc drive but opted to go with Phillips (?) design instead. Sony spent time and money on R&D they didn t want to go down the toilet so they built the PS from drive they started working on for Nintendo.

Also I don't have a problem paying the developers and distributors of the games that I like for the games that I like. I wouldn't be bothered if resale became illegal. I buy most games new anyway. People wouldn't stop buying games if used games weren't available. More people would just buy new games, though not as many as used.

The prices of new games drop anyway so people who only buy used because they can't afford new would just have to wait longer than usual to play games.

And who cares if Gamestop goes out of business? I don't think they would if the sale of used games became illegal, but there would still be Best Buy, amazon.com, etc. I don't really think used game sales should be done away with, but I wouldn't be upset if it was.

Why was the girl on the show so upset about the idea anyway. I'm sure she gets a lot of her games for free anyway. I LOVE this show and the people on it are intelligent and witty and knowledgeable, but I

I'd like to point out that the stable of premier N64 games have aged far better than their Playstation 1 counterparts. And while the PS2 indoctrinated much of what makes up the collective gaming scene today, it is absurd on -any- concievable level to simply play the "nostalgia" card when referring to Mario in that he is still as relevent today as he's EVER been.

Did you guys forget you gave Mario Galaxy 2 a perfect score, as did many other gaming publications? Did you forget that Mario is the only title that maintains its sales throughout the year, versus the window of its launch date? I would argue it was the competition stirred by Microsoft that began the so-called "hardcore" shift far more than it was the dichotomy between the N64 and Playstation 1 crowd.

    Just a quick thought.

Remember that the Wii went through the same Shovelware crisis: games that focused only on showing off the new mechanics without anything else to offer. There will be ALOT more terrible games featuring the Move. Hopefully, Sony will eventually get the hang of it and start offering some quality titles.

For the record, I'm a Nintendo fan through and through. Sony is still pretty high up on my list, though.

The only reason I even vaguely want to get the move is because I want to play games like Dead Space Extraction and No More Heroes in HD. Also, I think that if reselling games does become illegal I will stop buying as many games that I "kind of" want to play. I agree that games like Dead Space 2 will sell a lot better than it's predecessor (I'm actually playing a friends copy of Dead Space in preparation of Dead Space 2 at the moment).

lol did u hear what she said "i don't like my wii" i was llaughing when i herd her say that and i got my ps3 fixed for free guess the problems with it is just the cheap fact that sony was losing money on the value of the system vs the price got the slim so its kinda doesn't matter and idk if im a hard core gamer cause i don't get that much games a year nor do i care about 3d movies mustless games i love gud graphics so when i see stuff like mifia 2 and then i see characters in there that look like the main character of a ps2 game im thinking wtf

Can the next edition of Feedback include spoilers when discussing Halo: Reach? Trying to avoid a major story element while at the same time trying to talk about it can make a conversation seem vague and generalized. Not that there's anything wrong with being vague and general, but tasty perspective calls for specificity.
