I know I will probably get hated on this but I must speak my mind-
I dislike halo Reach due to the fact that it doesnt really have the Woe feeling like Halo 3 did, maybe because there isnt really any modes they introduced in halo? Sure Invasion not the best, the classes are kind of a waste, the only thing I ever use is jetpack so I can go camp in a spot and then thats it. Oh and people are boosting the crap out of this game- why on Earth would you give exp on forge? I saw a warrant officer on the first day it came out....

Hi Mr. Sessler,
Halo Reach was a great game. The price was a bit much for the SHORT gameplay as a single player.

Beautiful game! I simply enjoy it beyond words. I can't get enough of the campaign, the story is rich and really well told. and dear sweet jebus are the graphics are art direction amazing. and i haven't even played online yet!
As adamn said, there is something to halo that gets people to love it. it's become something so huge! thus why i think there ARE halo haters. when something is SO big, has SO many fans, some a-holes are gonna hate. just for the sake of hating.

I think that really sold me on Halo was it was the first FPS that gave you a sense of scope of the current situation. As everyone says that their favorite moment of the first Halo game is when they emerged from the wreckage of the drop shift and was able to see this world where there was this HUGE ring wrapped around the sky. I mean I know its a photoshoped painting but still to this day I would find myself just stopping and admiring the view of it all. Also too I think that the story arch was compelling but still somewhat of a mystery to a lot of gamers. I mean we get a lot of answers about the Rings and the Convanent and so forth but we never get the whole story. You always have that feeling that there is more. And in the game world there are clues of what the final parts of the story might be. So that sense of intrigue is a huge part of the draw of this game.
But also I am going out on a limb by saying this. I think what Halo did to FPS is similar to what Super Mario Bros did to platformers. It made a jump beyond the standard. There were a lot of new elements introduced in the Halo series and graphically it was unlike anything we have seen before (the combat was a bright and colorful feast for the eyes).
But anyway the thing that I am upset about with the Halo series is the fact of its exclusivity. I know Microsoft wrapped Bungie up so tightly to the point it couldn't breath unless Microsoft said it could. But still this game should of been spread out everywhere. Then maybe there wouldn't be so many haters of this wonderful franchise.

I know COD multi-player is all the rage but they way they handle it is so DATED! Games like Halo and Killzone 2 and the MOH Beta got me into game and KEPT ME THERE within 30 seconds and I stayed in that lobby and the in between matches length was only as long as the game allowed. No freezes at all.

Whats Halo i never heard of it should i buy and play the first games then play new one> Joking u dumb arse u think i live on the moon. Well do YA!!

Before people start to complain about server issues. Especially COD fans, remember that some of us actually play both COD games and HALO games. Your compaints are invalid BECAUSE we know that COD had horrible connection issues, especially in Modern Warfare 2. People would get bumped out of a lobby for no reason. Sometimes lobbys would just hang up and lag and people would have to back out and rejoin.
First day with Halo Reach and besides long wait times for matchmaking, they always started up with no hassles. People would leave games, and hosts would even dashboard. And Halo would not freak out and just quit like COD games would. Halo just continues on allowing players to play.
Save your complaints, and even more save yourself from looking like a person with a bitter double standard for games just because it doesn't fit in your cozy world of what you think a FPS should be.

Hit the nail on the head Adam. For me there are only 2 halo games. Halo PC and Halo: Reach. The other 3 felt like unfinished experiments to me.

Bungie gave everything in this game. IMO this is the most completed game in history of the XBOX . Because HALO CE , the original xbox survive and XBOX LIVE was a massive success. Bungie may not have the best graphics or the best stories, but DAWN ,they make HELL OF FUN GAMES.
My vote for GOTY goes....without a doubt.....to this GAME.

I know this is a weird complaint...but the only problem i can think of with the game (i havnt played it yet) but the guns look a bit more...angular, idk, it hurts my eyes

With the trend in video games being to shorten their length, I always wonder how long it takes a typical gamer to finish campaign mode before I buy it. I am suprised that Adam, and for that matter any reviewer, doesn't mention that fact when reviewing every game. I'm not going to shell out over 60 bucks if the campaign mode can be finished in under 20 hours. There are way to many bargans to be had out there to pay top dollar for a short game. I also wonder if this is a prequel, are the weapons not as effective or about the same.

Good soapbox Mr. Sess. I to very much enjoyed playing through Reach... It was so different from the previous games yet still felt so Halo. I think Bungie really did out do themselves with this one... I kind of see it as the Halo CE of FPS that we got way back in 2001. Sort of breathing new life into the franchise in a way.

I wonder if Reach ends with a last stand of the spartans. It just seems so obvious to do so that they might have decided against it, but would still be cool.

You know, I've never gotten into Halo. The look just rubs me the wrong way. Can't say why, it just does. That being said some people really love this game and I say more power too them. Sounds like Bungie worked really hard to put out a game for the fans. That's a good thing. More developers need to this. There is no reason to bitch about this game if you don't like it, at least support the attempt to make a game for gamers.

Now I haven't actually played through the entire campaign of Halo: Reach, so I don't know the ending, except that Reach does fall. But the fact that such an ending can still be considered a great story will hopefully show other developers that the good guy doesn't always have to win for people to like the story. I'd like to see more stories where the ending is sad and completely unexpected.
