Why am I not surprised that AS ALWAYS instead of debating the actual issue the response is it's only X amount more per month/year. Gaming is free on every other platform and as far as gaming goes the service provided is exactly the same. They offer no more dedicated servers than PSN or PC gaming so unless they provide a tiered format in which the gaming cost a set amount (which really should be free) and all the other extraneous garbage is on a higher tier at a higher price then it's BS. Why do you consumers and feedback continue to justify these things? You get mad when you're accused of bias but when you spend all of 2 minutes on the price hike and then essentially justify it while going on long rants about PSN (where gaming is still free) and individual subscription models for games like COD why wouldn't people think there may be some bias there?

You can always consider Other M non-cannon.

I played Metroid: Other M, and I LOVE IT.
It's different from the traditional Metroid Formula and the Story is very great. One of the Best Wii Games out there.
It's just baffling that you didn't like it.

I'm not sure about most of that, but I agree with the "let's bring pinball back" comment!!

I've got Metroid reserved right now, I think I'm gonna just rent it from Gamefly so I can at least try it. Abbie I found your review to be very informative, and I appreciate everything you and the gang had to say in this weeks episode and in the Talkabout with you and Matt.

Sounds like she rating Metroid Other M so low only because she had such ridiculously high expectations of the series. Had this been another series or a new original title with the same gameplay it would have gotten a higher score. But no since they love prime so much and blablah.. a great game(not the best of the metroid series) gets a low score of 2 befitting of games that are truly horrible, what a horrible use of the scoring system...

I could be wrong but wasn't the controversy surrounding medal of honor concerning being able to play as the taliban in the multiplayer? If that's the case then its not something you can skip like "no Russian"
Also, Abbie and co. Don't get too hung up about what trolls on the internet say, they are for the most part cowards that wouldn't say a word if they weren't protected by the anominity provided by the internet. Also I hope you guys can see the growing trend that I believe I'm seeing on g4 forums and comment sections: really intellectual and intelligent posts and discussions and I think its due to feedback, soapboxes, talkabouts and all the badass and thought provoking material y'all put on your site.

I believe that the reason why they don't allow you to pay for things individually or in different increments is that they know that we are cheap and will just use facebook on our computers (like now) for example and they will lose money. It tis the sad truth. I even like Microsoft and this makes me understand even more why people hate big corporations (myself included). I know that Microsoft does a lot of good stuff but I wish they wouldn't do "bottom-line, profit-margin" stuff like this.

Abbie pretty much answered my question, since I don't have any knowledge of the previous Metroid games I might like it more. I respected Abbie's review but I don't think people are mature enough to handle a ball's out (for lack of a better term), heavily opinionated review and if you can't handle that then.... play the game and develop your own opinion, if you're skeptical rent it or play the demo. It's simple, don't let opinions run your life.

Great Feedback! Y'all did well holding down the fort with the "Boss" (Read: Adam) away. I know Other M has been beaten into the ground, but I was kinda looking forward to Adam's take on it, given how passionate and articulate he is (that you all are at xplay/g4).

Thank you for your professionalism and civility in the face of so much trolling, bile and tripe on the web.

I would also like to say that just because Samus is under the authority of a male character does not mean the game is sexist. She follows Adam's orders and doesn't use certain abilities unless authorized (just like the rest of Adam's group) because of the deep respect she has for him, and because of the fact that she wants to be back in his good graces.

And I can't help but feel a double standard here...if Samus was a male and Adam was a female, I strongly doubt anyone would be saying the game was sexist.

I can see how you might take her position as a submissive one, but I don't think that's the case. The team behind Other M only made it that way (I'm talking about how you get your weapon upgrades) because they wanted to try something new (Samus always loses her stuff in the beginning of the game and has to find new upgrades). We have to keep in mind that this was an experimental game.

Even though I disagreed with some of your points, Abbie, I think you presented your argument very well here. There were a bunch of things that you were spot on about. I was sort of shocked/confused after seeing what you had to say about Metroid Other M at first, but I think you explained things better in this Feedback. You did a good job :)

For me every time i switched to first person in Other M I felt detached and felt nostalgia towards the prime games. "Concentration" of hp/rockets was lazy and now I want to play all 3 prime games I don't have.

They don't seem to mention how short the game is. I'm extremely disappointed. I expected more than a day's worth of playing before I beat it, but sadly I wasn't so lucky.

Ok we all know windwakers is not, NOT, the best Zelda. Ocarina of Time is clearly the top if not the original.

Another great Feedback. I agree with previous posters in saying that I think the way Abbie explained what she didn't mind and didn't like at all about Other M was better portrayed. She wasn't as passionate but it's probably good that she took some time away from the game to better explain what wasn't working with the game later on this Feedback.
