it seems odd that Abbie seemed to retract a little on her view or maybe that talkabout was just a wee to early and too much emotions were involved. speaking that I will never play this game i can not comment on merits of gameplay. I think people should play the game hell Nintendo needs some controversy if not just to stay relevant.

Abbie, the issue is that you are not taking into consideration comes at the very beginning of the game. The demise/sacrifice of the baby Metroid has sent Samus back into a more infantile mental state, right back to the other greatest loss of her life. With this taken into account, plus her PTSD, it is natural that she would be looking for the father figure more than ever. Furthermore she would be looking to reconnect with her own kind who she's been estranged from since she was a child. This story DOES make sense in the overall timeline. Samus was more of an automaton and a tool of great precision in the past games. She is at a point where's she's finally taking stock. You just had a different vision than Sakamoto did. And please keep in mind that this is not the end of Samus' character development. This is merely a chapter. Is it not realistic that someone, ANYONE would go through a period of their life like this?

I thought Abbie's opinions were much better articulated in this Feedback than they were in the review. I don't know if she was trying to be professional in the review or if there was a word-count limit or something, but just her talking about it made more sense than her writing about it.

Note: I'm not bashing the review; I thought it was very well-written. Just because something is better than something else doesn't mean the lesser one is crappy

Great feedback. As a pad player myself for ssf4, I'm pretty excited for this new controller. Maybe then, I'll start doing better online with Rufus.

I liked how you presented the flaws in Metroid like this better than the review and in the Talkabout. You seem more humble. Great Feedback. Can't wait for next week.

On the Xbox Live issue, I checked an inflation calculator and what cost $50 in 2002 cost $59 in 2009. The price hike actually makes sense.

Great job guys and lady, even without that other guy what was his name? j/k Everyone should watch this and just move on from the controversy. But thanks to Feedback and the honest reviews on G4 I think about stuff (not sure if thinking is good or bad yet) but Great Show!

So far(I'm sill playing through it) Other M is my favorite game this year(better tham Super mario Galaxy 2 and Deadly Premonition), I only winced when Samus said "confession time" and how she refers to the Metroid as "baby" instead of "child" or "infant". Other wise it is my favorite Metroid yet(and I've been playing them since the NES days) and am actually appalled that a professional game site would tear appart such an amazing gaming experience. I'm never coming here for reviews again, I'm only coming here for Sessler's soapbox! Keep it up Adam!

Hey guys, great show as always. I thought Abbie's Metroid review and talkabout. with Matt were excellent. I really enjoy reading reviews by someone passionate about the subject matter. I personally agree with Abbie's review but all the reviews I have read have been really fun to read because there have been some really different experiences this game has been giving to different people. Everyone has had an interesting take on what they thought of this game so while I was pretty disappointed, I did like that this game brought on such a challenging and diverse discussion (except for that idiotic bile that gets spilled into these message boards). Now I am going to go play Super Metroid to cheer myself up.

do people not understand that the fun in a game like MOH isn't thinking "I'M A TALIBAN AND I HATE AMERICANS" you're thinking "Nice headshot there, XXXShadow.MLG.AssassinXXX" Know what i mean?

She a bounty Hunter , since when does she listen to anyone ?. Point is what people liked about Samus was that she WAS a badass that took crap from no one.

Now she just like one of those typical women in Japanese anime, a place where the Metroid series does not even sell all that well might i add. So why Nintendo wanted to alienate the Western Audience , where Metroid sells better is beyond me

My only problem with this feedback is that 1. Metroid wasn't actually developed by Nintendo, it was done by Team Ninja, and looking at Team ninja's apst portrayals of women in their games this Samus kind of fits with that. At least if I recall that correctly. But the real question is how much actual influence did the regular Metroid developement team inside of Nintendo carry over Team Ninja?

I went to an inflation calculator and entered in 50 dollars in 2002 to 2009 (there was no 2010 available) and 50 dollars in 2002 equates to $59.28 in 2009 so actually fairly accurate what are people's thoughts on this now?
