I constantly find myself not finishing games, and its pretty much how Sessler puts it. I build myself so much on these games (such as the final fantasies) and the endings just let me down. Its like...great, I spent all this time on the games and yet the ending just isnt satisfying, why on earth should I even finish the games?

I really loved the endings of Half life 2, episode 1, and episode 2. i thought the first bioshock had a good boss battle ending, and if you count red dead redemption where jimmy jo bob got shot to death then that would be a good ending.

Was I the only person who really liked God of War 3's ending? Slightly cringey with all the talk of 'hope', which should've been handled better, but I thought the extra depth revealed in Kratos' character in the last few seconds was amazing.
Also, Killzone 2 - mediocre plot throughout, but then left with the perfect balance of cliffhanger and conclusion.

The one thing I hate beyond all forms of endings is where you lose control of the character and it is made to do something you would never have done for the whole of the game. Red Dead Redemption is a perfect example, the character I played would have tossed dynamite out the front door and ran out the back. If I invest time and make choices I feel it is all a waist when those things are striped so that they only have to make a single unwavering ending. I feel as cheated as when people time travel to fix mistakes, the movie or what ever may as well never have happened, I'm looking at you new Trek movie, way to make the last 44 years of Trek worthless. MOTHERFFFFFF.

I really enjoyed the ending to Red Dead Redemption. Killing off main characters is always a good way to get an emotional ending to a game.

The last two ending are Shocking and good.

great piece on game ending, but then at the end if the video you show an outdated comerical for feed back that mentions an employee who no longer works for you... looks like G4 didn't think through to the ending of this clip

Mass Effect 2 is by far the best ending i have ever experienced,
side note, it was very cheesy, but i loved the ending for saints row 2, it was just so bas ass

When I saw this, I thought , I wonder if he will mention God of War 3, I did not like how it ended. I thought it was Cheap. I think cause of that it stays away from being the Game of the Year. I feel they rushed it at the end. They hardly did anything with that game with any dlc either. Its like they just wanted to get it done and get it out of the way :(
Mass Effect 2 , I agree with him, it had a awesome ending and it was well done. Also Uncharted 2 had a well done ending. I hope more and more games look at these 2 when it comes to endings.

Why is it that The Last Remnant comes to mind when you talk about RPG final bosses that destroy you. I got the DLC for that game spent about 30 hours just leveling up where I owned all enemies and bosses but the final boss killed everyone on the second round...I mean WTF

I Belive that The Conduit for the wii has an ending like what is needed in a game. you are faced with a relentless hord of drudge but it alows you to show off your skills.

The Gears of War games had some really cool endings but they were too similar. But even tho gears 2 was rotten it had a great campaign. lets just hope Cliffy learn from his mistakes in gears 2, and havin seen gears 3 vids he hasn't :(. but i will buy cuz i still love gears!

Endings are important I think they should be satisfying but leave some mystery like Okami or Shadow of the Colossus but I don't think a bad ending has ruined a game for me yet
