Yes I do appologize. I had to cut my post up. I am not sure what is causing the profanity filter to get all fired up at me. I wont even try to re-word my post since I am still angry I got the profanity filter glaring at me. Believe it or not, 5000 characters in a post is limiting at times when you have to cut it at random places because of unknown factors.

Ultimately speaking, either system is really fine and a personal taste. However, I still take the stand that... when it comes to gaming... desktop is the way to go for hardcore and long term situations. Of course, when your traveling allot or away from a stable location... that Laptop takes the gold and is much better. A friend reminded me, that when I go on trips I take my laptop and not my desktop on the weekend getaways. So I will be the first to admit I am wrong. (Of course, I dont leave the city that often.)

My laptop works perfectly fine on SC2, my desktop sucks. Plus I can always go places easier with laptop than desktop. My case is settled.

People have their own opinions, don't piss everyone off.

Thank you for topic, first weekend for StarCraft 2, can't wait :)

when a desktop already requires the stability. And since Desktops offers the potential of having better upgrades... its all the bells and whistles that can make the difference. I am sorry I could not include my entire arguement of LapTops versus Desktops. It seems, the profanity filter does not like me.

I am having trouble posting. I have a profanity filter says I am very naughty. I am not even sure what is causing the problem.

I will have to send it via email I guess.

Desktops versus Laptops (the gaming PCs).

There are many arguments in favor of both the laptop and the desktop PC. Let us start with Space. (Not outer space.) Desktops take up more space. Even though they're getting smaller and sleeker, the LapTop takes the gold medal for being an obtrusive-free zone.

Yes, the LapTops used to be a less powerful option than a desktop PC. However, it's been gaining serious ground. Thanks to mainstream computing going the way of multi-core processor technologies, real people can have the same type of computing power that big businesses have. Although the laptop hasn't beaten the performance available in the most powerful desktop PC, it's getting close... Real close.

Generally speaking, the Laptop cost is more than the average Desktop cost for the same features.

    Upgrading the PC.

Most Desktops PCs are easier to upgrade and much more economical when it comes with upgrading. While Laptops are, generally, harder or near impossible to upgrade as much as the average Desktop. While many recent changes have helped the LapTop, in general, it is much faster and easier to find upgrades to the average Desktop than the average LapTops. Check with your manufacturer on the specific PC you're looking at.

    What about Heat.

Did you know heat and dust and sunlight can damage your computer or laptop? Unless you have large windows that are letting in direct sunlight, the Desktop PC should be away from the sunlight. This will reduce the damage potential from Sunlight heat. While the LapTop, by its very nature, is designed to be mobile. Chances are you will go outside and use it... sooner or later.

    Battery versus Power cord.

The Desktop PC will base its power on a more constant power cord and be in a stable location. Or should be. I am sure there are a few weird desktop locations out there. However, lap tops are portable and tend to rely on batteries when on the go. While playing you will push on both the CPU and the GPU, and each of their fans - with considerable disk activity. All of this will result in maximum possible strain on the battery. So, if your objective was to be able to play on a coast-to-cost plane ride (for instance), make sure to upgrade the battery to the highest number of cells available for that laptop.

    StarCraft 2 and RTS.

This brings me to SC2 and RTS in general. For multiplayer especially its time versus efficiency. You need to build, manage your economy, defend, harrass, attack, and manage your troops all in a split second. As a result, I strongly recommend you be in a stable location with plenty of light and room for your gaming needs. If your in a stable and constant location, why are you using a LapTop when a Desktop?

    Hope this helps.

FAIL. A Lap top. Get a desktop in the picture and you may have portaited a hardcore StarCraft 2 gamer. Desktops are more stable for their mouse and keyboard use, IMHO.
