If Activision where to do this subscription thing I would no longer purchase any of their games. If the subscription thing applied to past games, such as Modern Warfare and World at War, I would sell those games and get different ones.

If said subscription service applied to Bungie during their partnership, sorry Bungie, I love ya, but Activision screwed up. That is, if, like was mentioned in the episode, the new IP Bungie has in the works is an MMO, in that case, it would be logical to have a subscription model.

Really enjoyed Blair's opinion on DC/Marvel Character in video games because I absolutely agree; it does feel quite silly to seeing characters like Batman fighting with/against Superman.. lol
HAI GAI WITH GADGETS HEREZ MY BALLS MADE OF STEEL.

    aww, duke nukem :|

and seriously, who has 150$ to waste on Kinect any ways; Microsoft is wasting so much money marketing.

I loved the fact that the camera men started to laugh at the jokes in the beginning of the podcast.

Hey guys. I wanted to drop in here. I couldn't chime in earlier because I was attending Comic-Con for my new gig over at EGM and EGMi. My parting was G4 was not a firing or a lay off. I grew up reading EGM and the opportunity to help lead the rebirth of my favorite magazine was not an opportunity I could let pass me by. You guys have no idea how much I'll miss joining Adam, Abbie and everyone else every week for Feedback. Outside of breaking news for you kick-ass folk, it was my favorite part of the job. Hopefully, they'll let me come back as a guest sometime. I'd be humbled (and my new office won't be that far away!). Either way, I'll still be watching Feedback every week and reading G4tv.com every day, except this time I'll be doing it because I'm just a fan. Thanks for all of your support, and I hope you'll check out www.egmnow.com, or follow my rantings at www.twitter.com/patrickklepek.

Thank you Abbie for pointing out that MW2 is broken. I come from playing CS, CSS, and played MW2 for a while but it just got to the point where the games flaws are so blatantly apparent that it makes the game unplayable for me, coupled with the fact that nothing has been done about it since the games release. That's why I laughed at people actually paying a subscription fee to play a similar broken game like MW2. It still saddens me to see how low gaming has come, from update/patch/new map being free to now a subscription fee is being looked into in an online fps + paying money for maps.

This just seems like Activision flexing it's greed muscles once again. =/

The fee will be first implemented thru the used gaming section. New games will be released with a multiplayer code that allows the purchaser to get into the multiplayer for free, where they will continue to make money thru DLC, and possible in-game extras. IF you buy the game used you will have to purchase a code from the company to be able to play the multiplayer part of that game. That will be the start of it.

Great episode of feedback. Love the show.

I think the Kinect bundle is a real misstep. I think that the public really does a fair bit of research before they purchase a system now, and with so many options in the motion control field now they're going to understand how little harddrive space they're getting. On a system like the 360, which feels more driven by downloadable content to me than any of the other consoles, you simply can't get away with neutering one of the system's main functions so severely.

Oh, and I'd like to see more of Blair Butler on the show. She was fun. Along with more downloadable mp3's of the show. Great for the walk to work!

Your wrong Adam, PC gamers pay 25-50 a month to play games online. So if I want to play WoW I could be spending 40-65 bucks.

On the subscription front, I could see them justifying it if you never pay for map packs nor anything else that comes out for the game. On top of that there would have to be content every month.

What if the subscription covered all the online games that company released?

aka: I pay 15 a month and I get free content to COD, SINGULARITY, F.E.A.R, and what ever they come out with.
    Personally I wouldn't pay cause I don't play a whole lot online.

Okay, Osubluejacket, that was an awesome question. Even better was Abbie Heppe's rant. If any game did that I'm be gone. I play other games along with MWF2 and honestly I'd be okay not playing Cod. I have two other games coming to me at the end of the year.

It's one thing for a company that creates the system and runs the servers to explain to players there is a cost. That much makes sense as to why there is a cost to Xbox live gold. What I would think most people are angry/scratching their heads about is what justification does Activision or any gaming company releasing a game for a console could provide as a service to those who already have a gold account that is not already provided by Microsoft. The logical explanation is that Activision wants more money upon seeing how much Blizzard gets from the WoW subscriptions. (As the cast had stated in this episode). If Activision really wants to go with a subscription model (please don't) they will have to start taking up the burden that their other half (Blizzard) does for WoW. Actively looking for imbalances in whatever game they plan to make to go with the subscription model. A fairly consistent update of new maps that are FREE (it won't mean anything if Activision still expects subscribers to pay for map packs), and other perks that will make the cost worth while. Until then I believe Activision will have a very tough time selling the idea to Microsoft and Sony, in which case, it would mean Activision would not pursue the issue.

Why is Abbie complaining about paying for multi-player, she already does with Xbox live. Can you tell me one Xbox game you play that you don't go online for? I doubt it, so you are paying not only for internet access and useless features but also almost all your multipalyer, if don't want to pay for it, then stick with the ps3 or complain about all of it.
