That was a memorable match though A WIN IS A WIN BUT,i cant believe he thought he could win with rufus the slow character like that wowww. RYU Rules.

This was a great battle definitely the end i was amazed i would have jumped but Ricky had a stupid slow character rufus i cant believe he believe he could win against a strong character like ryu.

Heres my view, it really was a good match and everything but i think Ricky truly may have been better than Daigo. Daigo is really good and thats a fact that you cant question, but i would like to see him use another character. I believe to be truly skilled at any fighter you should be able to use multiple characters. Thats why MVC is so great, it almost forces you to experiment with different fighters and it also helps to have cool characters.

Listen...you all know that daigo uses a BEGINNER CHARACTER, right? capcom confirmed him as a beginner character, case and point, no advanced skill level character has a fireball to spam over and over...and alot of other simple to execute, and overpowered moves...daigo's good, but he's not THAT good, shiro abel can whoop him easy, for example...anyway, he wins year after year because he uses a noob character.

What a fantastic display of gaming skill. I'm sorry dissenters, I'm not much of a Ryu fan (or Ken, or Sagat, or any of their numerous clones) either, but as someone who has fought hard to remain in the top 200 of the NA leaderboards (for one weekend, in the top 20), and beaten a great many such clone (with Blanka, no less) I can tell you when I see a good Ryu player, and Daigo blasts almost all of them out of the water. Nevertheless, Ricky Ortiz was the player that truly shined, in my eyes. He was so close, so close. Better luck next year, Ricky.

He IS OP, problem is nobody will admit it, they just ragequit against my Zangief.

If people cant win by fireball spamming then they quit, and thats the same pattern Daigo uses (Cept he doesnt RQ).

If you cant understand this fact then it is YOU who needs to learn how to play, if you are truly skilled then you can use another character besides Ryu/Ken, period.

Big ups to skisonic and all those other guys who did the commentating for pool play and the semi-finals. I'm a ssf4 noob, but their commentary really helped me understand and appreciate all the crazy stuff that was going on.
Also, I wish Gamer Bee had made it further.

i agree with all that is seed about the fireball spammer in fact i think Ryu should be lock out and ken for that reason ,cant we see a good fight with out the fireball X4 i mean come on i want to see a fight not a fireball back to back to back to back boring,

now Ricky was putting up a good fight and a good show, but it sux the the fireball won the fight

Boring spamfest, the only good player in that was Ricky, best Rufus I have ever seen.

Hes a better player than Daigo can ever hope to be, if you make a game where Ryu is actually balanced and his moves dont have priority over ANYBODIES attacks then you'll quickly see Daigo fail, which proves he only succeeds by using OP characters.

But alas, this means people will ride his jock for another year, silly sheep.
