Mario Galaxy is cool only if you're a 10 year old, or a chick (I bought it for my wife and she loves it -- case in point).

My top 3

1. God of War 3
2. Mass Effect 2
3. Red Dead Redemption

mmmmmm mass effect 2. It is almost my favorite game of all time. Sorry, nothing can replace that feeling of metroid prime for me. But mass effect 2 came so close. Great game. Great f'ing game.

Ok take that stupid Pokemon game out and put in something good like BF:BC2. That Deadly Premonition game looks terrible, I would put Bioshock 2 in there, the multiplayer is actually pretty fun.

gr8 list ,except for deadly premonition . i wasnt even slightly impressed with that title. ME2 deserves the no 1 spot without a doubt. gow 3 was deserving of its spot. but why no bc2 it was way better than mw2 and theres no stupid hackers on xbl so that deserves somthing.but all in all good list.

Wow no BC2? Best FPS to come out this year so far. But I always felt G4 didn't like battlefield too much. they're all CoD ppl

Good choices with ME2 as one, though Alan Wake seems pretty low - particularly considering the placement of yet another Pokemon rehash. Though to each their own - unlike many other people here, I understand that even Top Ten Lists for "official" gaming sites are still just a collective matter of opinions, and in reality no opinion is really superior to any other.

But still, a nice list - admittedly, in spite of my distaste for God of War.

I actually own most of these games. All I'm missing are FF XIII, Deadly Premonition and the Pokemon titles. Was there any doubt Mass Effect 2 would top the list? As much as I like the other games, I'm on my eighth (Yes, eighth) playthrough of ME 2. The game is just that good. I'm about to start my third playthrough of RDR if anyone's curious.

Bad Company 2? lol....please. It was mediocre. The engine was good, but the gameplay was bad. DICE just don't know what they're doing. The sales figures speak for themselves. They just don't know how to make a fun game.

I wouldn't have minded seeing Bayonetta make the list. That was a really fun game with lots of replayability.
