They never said it was the FINAL MK, they said it was the final MK on the old generation systems and the final MK to use the MK:DA/MK:D graphics engine. The next MK game was to be exclusively for next gen systems and using a better graphics engine and the Armageddon storyline would end there which in a way it does because this new one picks up at the end of MK:A and with raiden sending a message back in time to his younger self, and then the story goes back to the beginning but it will play out differently than before.

What happened to Armageddon being the "Final" Mortal Kombat? Don't get me wrong, I am more than delighted to see that Mortal Kombat is making a comeback, especially with the hyped out gore and old 2D style fighting layered on purely amazing cinema worthy 3D graphics, but this is the second fighting installment they have made to the series since having made that statement.

The worst thing about this game is the fact that I have to wait til next SPRING to get my hands on it! While I enjoyed the 3D MK games, it'll be fun to get back to the fast paced style of the older games. Also interested to see what the story mode will be like.

I'm a huge Mortal Kombat fan and I am so pumped for this game. Finally a Mortal Kombat game (not that crappy DC vs. Mortal Kombat garbage) for the 360.

Definitely looks like a love letter to the fans. Lots of content from the best game in the series, MK2
