Why does it look like he was using the "Portal" gun?

looks very cool, i personally liked the last red faction, but this sounds like their going more for a shooter than an open world type game, but still sounds very cool and that ,magnet gun annihiliating those those enemys with a wall, lol that sounds like it will be funny, and will incourage creativity with the worlds sounds very cool.
