E3 2010 Microsoft Press Conference

From E3 2010, here's the Microsoft press conference, with information on Gears of War 3, Fable 3, Halo:Reach, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, information about the new Kinect (formerly Project Natal) games, and the new, sleeker version of the 360 hardware.

I bought a Xbox Elite a few weeks ago and if I knew there where coming out new a xbox 360 I would have waited.

The kinect dude sounded totally sarcastic and condescending for most of his presentation (not to mention he looked like a 90s dj), and i seriously lol'd when he said "lets see how kinect can redefine the kart racer" and "my bff oscar"...
Dance Central reminded me of the last tony Hawk game, in that i play a game(DDR) because i cant do the real thing (dance). On the other hand, as my wife pointed out, if that had been around, maybe it would have been easier to learn to dance for our wedding.
As long as the Ubisoft wii fit knock off doesnt call me fat like nintendo...
I wonder if the Star wars game comes with a peripheral, and if so, how long until i get into the game and accidentally stab my tv (not long, im sure)
people need to remember that the kinect titles they showed are aimed at the casual gamer....pretty sure a serious gamer would never buy kinectimals, but my three year old...im pretty sure i could replace her babysitter with that thing (not that im going to)

Kinect is not going to be a big deal what-so-ever. No hardcore gamer wants to stand up, hold you hand out for a minute to select an option, hold their hands down on their side so they don't disturb the Kinect censors, and do stuff like holding an imaginary steering wheel and such. The only good part of Microsoft's conference was the last minute where they showed off the new-look Xbox 360. I looked up what it came with, and it only comes with standard-def cables, F that Microsoft.

Sweet I am probably going to pick up the new Xbox 360 because mine has the "open disk" error and I needed a new one anyway.
All in all it wasn't too bad of a show, I would have preferred if there where more charismatic people speaking and some more big announcements that concerned me more, however, I think we all knew this was going to be all about Kinetic and the casual. I am just really happy I got to see some more of Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach, and Fable 3. It makes me all tingly inside :)

I watched this and wondered why you play fable or halo after 10 years when they both still look just the same. Is it that hard to make new games. No on like Fable 1 then 2 and now 3 looks exactly the same. As for the tiger.. i had a dream cast and my Seaman dead cause he was just that boring. Why would we want that again either ?
Did anyone think about that great cam ? Your console will have a cam on you at all times is on and you will not be dressed nice like them either. We play games to get out of reality. The reality is now you have a cam to see yourself on the screen playing all the time. Just say no or start getting dressed to game.

Okay medal gear solid rising looks pretty cool. Still don't know about not having anything in my hands though.
But I guess Microsoft was too busy with Natal to steal any more franchises from Sony.
The new Xbox looks pretty cool, might consider getting depending on my budget this year. But I will laugh my ass off if they have 1/2 failure rate, not because I want it to have a 1/2 failure rate, I just think the irony would be hysterical after he gave away so many to the people in the office.

Cool I'm excited about the new xbox. Has bigger HDD and looks nice and should run cooler due to vents and hopefully it won't break after 3 months. :) Defintily buying it.

so this conference was pretty bad. not much i want for the future maybe pick up kinect for dance central to play at a drunk party and to game with my little bro. but what happened to original titles can we forget about sequals and bring something new.
