I think the Resident Evil movie would have been better had they used Romero's script. Resident Evil the movie was nothing like the feeling I got from playing the game. They took what was a survival horror game and turned it into a stupid action movie with zombies in it. I was very disappointed when the movie came out but it didn't bother me long because I lost interest in the Resident Evil series after Resident Evil 2.

really i would have to say the dead rising is the better example of a game thats inspired by Romero's work i mean even the zombies are is style plus L4D is more of a mind-less killing spree and no really story is involved!
And from my devoted passion for all things zombie i must say what is this
THE BLACK GUY ALWAYS SURVIVES!!!! Im just calling it how i see it

I wonder if a slow-zombie game could be fun to play. There would have to be more to the game than just killing the zombies. Having the survivors kill each other would be an interesting story, where the zombies simply serve as a catalyst for character conflicts and confrontations.

Weren't the bosses in Dead Rising survivors that have gone crazy? I'm not sure if that's the only way to do the "the real threat is the people" thing, but it was very close to what he was describing.

Survival of the Dead is far from awesome. I saw it at the Toronto International Film Festival and it was BAD. I love Dawn, Night, and Land of the dead, but Survival was really bad. It was very disappointing. Good Interview with Romero he does talk about other zombie films, that's very cool.

George Romero is one of my favorite directors not because of how remarkable his movies have been but because each one of them is really an allegory to the social, economic, and political tensions at the time. Without a doubt Romero has been an influence on modern zombie games but few have been able to convey the same significance of his films.

It's great how he pointed out all the differences between how the rules of zombies are different between the films and the games and it would be cool to see if a game could really be made by his rules. Considering it a game with slow moving zombies that are more on the peripheral could very well be the ultimate in survival horror in that your greatest threat are other survivors.

What would be great to see is some type of collaboration between Romero and Max Brooks, the writer of The Zombie Survival Guide & World War Z, that he brought up in the interview. Taking Brooks logistics along with Romero's focus on message could really be something to behold.

All that said I have to ask the obvious...why a PS3? I don't blame you G4 but Valve for refusing to develop for that platform. Yes, there are zombie games available for the PS3 but really when a gamer thinks of the undead they picture LFD not Resident Evil.

Fantastic interview and thanks for bringing this to the Feed.
