Morgan Webb Talks Red Dead Redemption & Alan Wake

With two big games released this week, gamers are having a hard time picking which title to buy. Thankfully, X-Play's Morgan Webb is here to give her thoughts on thriller Alan Wake and the gun-toting Red Dead Redemption. Of course, you could buy both if you wanted.

i have beat rdr but i just rented Alan wake but did not play it yet but dam he keeps bitching about that flashlight but yea it would of been funny if she did hit him with that flashlight. lol

While "GTA" and "RDR" share many of the same mechanics, I'm bored with "RDR" being labelled as "GTA with horses". It's its own game entirely!

Get one or get both if you can afford to, they are both awesome games. 2010 has probably has the best start to a year for quality games that I think I've ever seen in my 20+ years of gaming, great time to be a gamer!

I was on vacation this week at Daytona Beach, FL. The friends and family I was staying my vacation with are all big gamers and their kids are huge xbox people. Since, I saw the previews and thought Red Dead Redemption was good. I introduced them to a midnight Gamestop selling of these games. We took it home and the single player was amazing. The multiplayer was fun too. We kept griefing noobs until they logged on Free Roam and then we got to hardcore multiplayer mode... where it takes allot of skill to aim your darn pistols. Just remember if Murking Goon griefed you after today, it is no longer me. The one bad thing about Red Dead Redemption, is I kept seeing the same people over and over again. Either it was some crazy placement system or there were not that many people playing.

Im really enjoying Alan Wake,cuz you dont just shoot the crap outta ppl or creatures, althought you do, but this time you gotta remove the darkness that protects them from damage,then you can cap them and kill them. the story is awesome the further you play the game, it all comes clear as to wtf is happening. since you cant kill the "TAKEN" right away, it gets tense when you get swarmed by up to 4 or 5 at a time, you also get a flare gun for that and flares and flash bang grenades. I give it a 4.75 of 5.

I felt the same way as Morgan when I was telling my friend about this game, he's like "Alan wake is lame yeah look at your lame flashlight lame lame lame..." I was trying to tell him it's actually a really deep game that sucks you in and please dont knock it before you try it. On the other hand RDR is not my favorite game but I never liked GTA and I never really liked westerns sooo... dont take my word for that game. But really anyone who likes a Psychological thriller check Alan wake out.

I'm always excited when a new survival horror game comes out,hands down my favorite genre!! I loved the Max Payne games as well and i want to see what Remedy has to offer in terms of story and mood,Twin Peaks with what looks like a splash of In the Mouth of Madness sign me up!. It's also nice nice to see another game playing around with light as a weapon and episodic levels, the last Alone in The Dark tried so hard but just didn't reach it's full potential. as for Red Dead...come on it's freakin Rockstar how can you not have faith in that developer at this point! After GTA4 (including the download-able content ) there is no reason to doubt there ability. so buy em both and next time Kevin, let Morgan actually speak or try to at least engage in an intellectual conversation about these games with her instead of trying to yell over her with your banter.

Meh I love survival horror, it might be my favorite genre. But Alan Wake looks boring as hell. Red Dead Redemption on the other hand does look really good.

My god, Kevin is annoying. Could he let Morgan speak for like 3 seconds at a time without shouting her down with what he thinks is funny (it's not). I guess playing second fiddle to that moron Olivia Munn must be quite oppressive, so when he's free of Her Over-ratedness he can't help himself.
Morgan is awesome as usual.

alan wake is the lalala (im not allowed to use profanities it says). no kidding. i just finished my first playthrough and im still not sure whats actually going on. i hope its all going to be cleared up in nightmare difficulty. anyways. i didnt think so at first but its a really great game and hard to put down, but on the other hand i also liked shattered memories on the wii, which is not for everybody or at least so i have heard.
