The thing is it was to test the Co-Op Network. (Which is different from the Matchmaking Network) Generator Defence won't be in the game.

For people complaining about lag, and possibly team size, I'm pretty sure that they said something about testing their campaign net-code. Although the team size might also be by design. Its actually been really convenient seeing as I play with 2 friends. They've also said that Generator Defense might not ship with the full game. Its something they're considering.

Generator Defense is a cool new concept for a game mode but I dislike the map somewhat. The generators always felt vulnerable to long range attacks giving an advantage to sniper play. The only way defend them was to go after said attacker (thus straying from the objective you're trying to protect) or become the generator's own personal meatshield. Would've helped to have a better team as well though...
It's good but not great. Bungie has to make some tweaks to make it better but I'm not sure what they can do. Change the maps a little? Make the teams larger? Dunno, but good thing it was in beta to be tested. Happily anticipating Halo: Reach's release, however I would personally rather play TF2 Control Point over Generator Defense.

*sigh* The people who play in these videos aren't all that good.
I guess I HAVE had 26 hours of experience...

Illadelph u obviously never played the game type with friends, if you had you would have realized that if you have an organized team, the A generater could be harder to take down than any other one. Personally i would be overjoyed to see this game type in the finished product because it is a breath of fresh air. As well this game type was designed to test the servers so the lag issues are making it a better game.

t's too easy when playing as elites. i never lost once.
and we never lost as spartans either, but it did seem like the game type favors elites. the generators health goes down really fast, and you can get a sniper and rockets right after you spawn.
so it has some balancing issues. and it needs to be more than 3v3

Elites are over-powered in general. They move faster and their shield recharge faster and their rolling ability is to good. Bungie tried to even it out by making the elites a bigger target and giving the Spartans better weapons (shotgun, dmr) but it just doesn't work. When playing just spartan vs elites slayer its so one sided. Especially if your an Elite and get the shotgun or the sword... its so easy just to roll and then shoot.

I kinda thought Network Test 1 (Generator Defense) sucked. I loved pretty much everything about the beta, Invasion was AWESOME and I thought Generator Defense was gonna be great too but I was let down. First I think it needs to be more than 3v3...way to small of a game. I don't really even know if this game type was a good idea like heres an example every game I played didn't matter if I was a Spartan or and Elite generate A and C are done in like the 1st min or 2 and then it just becomes a defend generator B game since B is the only one inside the other two get blown up very easy. I think they should make it a bigger game and I don't know either make it so you could lock the gens longer or they are harder to blow up...I'm not sure all I know is every time I played it I felt like it had a lot of potential but as it stood it was a broken game type.

this game mode is ok but i think its too short ps if u go into one of the back rooms there is a radio i cant hear it too well but this guy says something and this a campain map so maybe its important also in the far back right corner u can see out a door to the next part of the campain level

I had a bit of Lag but that's not going to reflect the final product. My only problem with it was that I felt like 3Vs3 was too small.
