[My initial comment shortly after this article was posted]:

I've been waiting for you guys to have coverage for this game!
I hope its a HUGE improvement on the 1st game. (=

[My comments after having played the demo]:
OMG..
..The "mini"-boss at the end of the first mission & the GIANT boss mission were SOO unbelievably difficult to whittle down!
I haven't even beaten that giant Boss mission yet, 'cuz I don't have enough health to last through to the boss itself! It keeps shooting a rain of these large fireballs on this narrow path, while there are enemies to attack you..and OMG..CAMERA CONTROL is STILL TERRIBLE!!! Actually its MORE terrible!
I'm glad that feelPlus & Konami picked this game up (since Phantagram is no longer part of the development process), but "Q?|Q Entertainment" (as seemingly the main developer, over Phantagram) still somewhat dropped the ball on this one (in terms of the demo, at least), and I hope they're still working out the kinks to the game even though its less than a month from the street date sale (which means the final version should already be on disc & mass-produced).
I WILL state the fact that I loved how they streamlined everything, in terms keeping track of & maintaining things for your character; and the fact that they added the option to custom tailor your characters abilities/"magic" & passive traits on the fly (meaning, you can change them in-between dying & restarting from the last checkpoint, or on the Continue screen).
I haven't fully explored it beyond that, but hopefully you can also change them when the game is paused mid-mission.
Oh! And that 3-button QTE with the giant Boss mission was SO UNEXPECTED, especially for a Ninety-Nine Nights game.
And the difficulty equally reminded me of the ever-so-frustrating game I'm still trying to slog through - Ninja Blade. (-_-)' G@wd..
Judging from the demo, it only seems like a Rent - probably a 3/5 - but hopefully, they've improved the game a lot since the demo launched (especially with the terrible camera control).

"enemies you can't really beat on your own. you need to play with two people to beat." ... booooo.

@Pwnproof- Yeah checkpoints would be nice, because it sucked how you had to fully complete a whole chapter in order to save your progress, and you always had to start from the beginning if you died...Lame!!

I loved the first one so much, i just hope they put some damn check points in this game!

I don't care what anyone has to say about hack and slash games. N3 was hands down one of the best games in that category!! It looks like they completely went awa y from the first story, which is actually a good thing, because it will introduce all new characters!! The addition of giant Boss battles even during the melee sounds awesome, and co-op mode with a more difficult experience, sounds liek they really listened to the fans on this one. Not to mention it drops right around the corner in June!! It looks like my summer is gonna be pretty busy with gaming!! Red Dead on Tuesday, N3II in June, and Crackdown 2 in July!!
