Yeah they could of used a guy that look a little more like he could be in combat and not a guy that looked like a sneeze would break all of his bones.

But other than that looked cool.

I didn't read any of the Halo books, but master chief is way more bad ass then the ODST guys and way better then these wiener babies in Reach. But if it can capture some of the magic the first game had then its a win.

    * Tense white guy on a bed. Looking at a chip. Is it a delicious chip?
    * Oh noes! It's actually a car assembly line! Get off the assembly line, white guy! They will spray-paint your dome chrome!
    * He seems very focused on not seeing the assembly arms.
    * Awe, his family. Wait, I can't tell if he's missing them, or if he's happy to be out of their smothering hands, or if he doesn't recognize them. It's okay though, emoting is not necessary for spartan-hood.
    * White guy has name. Hi carter -- um, I think your face is stuck.
    * Wait, no, the look he has back on the assembly line bed definitely contains under-notes of soulful. Maybe it's a spiritual experience for some, having two giant drills approaching your head at non-specified points considering he can move freely. I thought this had something to do with making him a spartan physically, but now I'm thinking it's just a practical joke on the Spartan Program Docs' part. If it actually served a purpose you'd think they would want to be very specific on where those drills started boring. Also, the fact that they don't put him under adds weight to the practical joke theory, me thinks.
    * Oo! Breaking orbit! I'm actually envious off this guy now.
    * Carter: Nothing short of the power of g-force will manage to change my expression!
    * Pretty sci-fi space shot, *o*
    * Needles, ah! Fluids! Hoses in legs! When did that happen?! Sign reads: beware, stomach turning ahead.
    * Beefy insta-legs! It's whats for dinner -- no, no wrong thing.
    * Beefy insta-body! Side effects: muscle fiber bioluminescence, missing home, and the ability to blink for stone-faced white guys.
    * Wait, everything is happening out of order! I don't understand, what's going on?!
    * Music swells, guy stand in front of armor just right so the camera sees him in the armor, Halo's spartan armor: awesome. For everything else there's space MasterCard.

While the majority was creepy or confusing, that breaking orbit scene and the end really rocked my socks -- er, combat boots off. Which is bad, because then I could get shot in the toes, and not so many. Nevermind, I'll just take White guy's approach: >:|

    Buy Halo! >:|

Well these are not the 7 foot tall muscle bound spartans II, which is what Master Chief is. These are spartans III, they are a cheaper version of spartans II. Spartans III are supposed to be expendable and more discard-able then spartans II. So that means that they wont be as strong, their speed will be down, and other things like that.

You know what, I was wondering why he was bald?

Other than that, I thought it was a good little short to attract attention of most gamers...or is it a more cleaver ploy, when they made live action, i.e. an actually human guy turn into a spartan other than some damn cartoon/anime style clip?

also, he look like he changed into a giant mood ring, with the eye color change.

Fist we had the Halo 3 commercial. Then the Halo 3 awesome shorts. Followed by last year awesome ODST trailer now this awesome commercial that for Reach. All i have to say is just WHEN are we gonna see a Halo related movie. If the shorts and commercials are awesome I could just imagine how a 1:45 to 2:15 movie would kick so much azz!!

that was way too simple to be how spartans were made, most of them died from the LONG painful procedure...guess i need to see the extended version!

Well I bet that was a waste of money. That just seemed like a waste of time to watch. Then again I never really though viral ads like this are effective. Advertising for games can be hard but the best way to do it in my opinion is to show in game footage and small pieces of cutscene footage and a voice over to sum up the the plot during the 30 to 45 second or more ad. There's probably better advertising method then this but that's the type of ad that gets me to buy a game I wouldn't normally buy.
