It think ill just be playing Red Dead Redemption until a review pops up... or a little more detail on the single player/story.
IMHO Split/Second > BlurI had this one race that lived up to the game's namesake. In the last few feet of the final lap, I draft boosted past the car in 1st just as we crossed the line. Our times were exactly the same down to the 1/100ths of a second. Both games are utter chaos, but in Split/Second YOU control it.
it seems like half of the traps won't even hit you
I like the demo too. I have been trying to decide between this and blur and still don't know which one to get. They are different games. I wish there was more than one track to race in the demo but the fact that no race is the same eased that problem. I found myself each race hording my power ups to either make new routes or unleash destruction on my foes ahead of me. The highlight of the demo for me was on my final lap of the race I was on a straight away on the airport runway when I looked up and saw and airplane about to land, but then I realized it wasn't going to land but it was going to crash into me and at the last second I swerved out of the way. I was like "holy crap!" I definitely enjoyed the demo and will continue to play it over and over. Wish there was online multi-player in the demo to test my skills against my friends but for the time being I think i can deal with the computer because they did put up a decent fight.
It reminds me of the burnout series with kart racer power ups. I'm looking forward to this.
I played the demo for about 3-4 races, and I must say it looks better to watch then it does to play. The explosions are massive and really cool, but they can be easy to dodge, and after the first "oh crap!" when you see them for the first time, they become kinda repetitive. The AI is good enough to try and crash you with their own triggers, but again, they can be easily dodged, from what I played anyways. I think this game could go either way, but I don't feel that it will be the top racer of the year.
I liked the demo. It's a bit of a fresh take in racing games in my book.. Even if there isn't alot of tracks in this. so far the demo track it self has. i think around 6 varations. you can do with the 2 points where you can change the track. makeing each race and lap diffrent. If we look just 12 tracks, and each have 2 route changes, and one of those can be done 2 times, Means depending on how you use your power plays (same with others and A.I). your next lap can go anouther way instead on all 3 laps. The Cars have heavy feel to them. and you can really feel when your car is getting pushed around by a shockwave. I only hope in the final the AI is a bit more aggressive. Can't wait for it my self
It sounds like it has 12 tracks, it feels like a great racer, but I agree that it needs countless amounts of tracks beofre its release, and tons more via dlc
Reminds me a lot of "Death Race," with all the power ups and stuff. Cool idea, and presented well, but I am kinda on the fence with this one. Like Maiestas777 said, unless there is a massive amount of tracks, I think its gonna get repetitive really quick, but I could be completely wrong.
it looks like a game you would have fun playing with friends but online would just be annoying
I played about 6 races, and although I wasn't too hyped about this game to begin with, I am not sold. Unless it has a massive amount of tracks, it could get very dull and repetitive. It could just be that this wasn't my kind of game, but I was not sold.
