Considering the PS3 has a better GPU, the game looks a bit crisper and it runs smoother. It is just dark because the lighting is lifelike on PS3. It wouldn't look all pasty and bright in real life which is why it looks better on PS3.

IMO G4 is as bad as the fanboys that they're feeding ;)
But in all honesty...the PS3 version looks better regardless of everyones argument. Not like this was even a fair review. The PS3 version had ALOTTT of time to prepare for launch. Either way you look at it, nothing can be concluded from this. No one can say "LOOK THE PS3 DOES HAVE BETTER GRAPHICS" or vice versa. Its an old game released at different times for both consoles. Stop flamebaiting G4.....its getting a little ridiculous.
In each of G4s comparison reviews, the 360 is too bright and the PS3 is too dark. Do you guys at G4 even know that theres settings for stuff like this?

every time they compare consoles i see that the xbox has a bit higher gamma, personally i like that. when i saw this comparison the xbox version looked a helluva lot better because you could comprehend what was going on without squiting. otherwise gta4 looks absolutely no differnt on either console.
I will say however, they definitely play differntly, when i play gta on the ps3 it constantly lags when i'm in a chase or whatever, while on the other hand my xbox gta has never lagged once...why is that? still w/e i love both my ps3 and my xbox..

Really, is it so freakin hard to make the brightness levels the same for both? How are we supposed to be able to judge the two when their both set to levels you'd never use IRL? Someone above posted a good suggestion, do 'em side by side not split screen. Better yet, put one over the other. It'd be a much better comparison.

I cant believe there's a comparison video of GTA..lol. The graphics is horrible but story is good.
Anyways PS3 dark and the DVD player too bright, nothing a little optimization or display settings cant fix.

aside from the fact that the 360 version is brighter I can't really tell the difference, the game still looks dated, not that Rockstar is known for graphics but still, this is not a great game to compare with.

so it looks like you just have to turn up the brightness of your TV on the ps3 verson and it be exactly like the 360

yeah, obviously sony's is darker and microsoft's lighter. simple solution to either if you don't like it....the brightness control on your television!

Ps3 wins. If you notice in this video at around 1:22 you can see light reflecting off the police cars window in the playstation 3 version. Its not there in the 360. PS3 wins again. Also in the ps3 version day is day and night is night. On 360 its light out all the time, day or night.
