I despise Actvision for their money-grinding approach, and I am glad West and Zampella will have more control over their IP's. However, didn't the IW guys did commit insubordination by holding talks with EA?
I am not so sure I agree that things are close to being resolved. There are lawsuits pending. Maybe I am wrong, but I do not see yet how this situation will impact the future of gaming.
P.S. People listen to what Adam has to say and stop looking at monitors and controllers. Adam's shirt is cool though.

random and unrelated but im gonna ask anyway. Anybody know whats happening with that assassins creed Rome game that has multiplayer? I heard about it a month or two ago and thats it. Supposed to come out this year right?

Is I.W. (what remains of it) going to be scapped or is Activision going to take them under their wing and "oversee" the production of MW3? I wonder if Activision will ruin MW3 if they do takeover the project.

oooh man i hope game developers can make it to the same place movie developers have. it would make it more cut throat and increase the number of bad games but the quality of the good games would get a lot better. please be right Adam.

I think a lot of the gamers were obviously on Vince and Jason's side and wanted to see them win. However, neither side is right in this case. This industry has grown beyond the scope of anyone's imagination, which means that at the end of the day, it's all business.

The question I have is that will West and Zampella be the exception? There's a stark comparison between your normal developers and your 'blockbuster' developers. The average developer just doesn't have the clout that these two do. I just hope that designers don't see this as the golden opportunity, because it's just not for everyone.
Personally, I think this kind of situation will be very isolated, for now. I agree that there will be a time when more designers will push for similar freedoms but I don't think we're there yet. We're close though, this is definite proof that the gears are in motion.

Yeah the industrys getting like that these days that. You got guys like Cliffy B on Jimmy Fallon and Gears of War 3 permiering on a late night talk show, not a convention, the masses dont realize how historic of a moment that was but people like us do. Though i doubt a Game maker will be as famous as a Steven Spielberg anytime soon, at least in a "household name" kind of way, in America. Kojima is probably a Japansese Celebrity for all i know.
But how you mentioned the Watchmen fiasco made me think of the Halo movie fiasco (or Gears fiacso for that matter), maybe thats how the gaming industry will explode, by merging with Hollywood and making big Access Hollywood segments where all they do is tell you what they don't know yet.
