I would be quite happy if scores where done away with altogether.

I don't mean for this to be patronising, but well done Mr Klepek on being insightful and holding your own. And i do still love that Mr Klepek plays games on easy, for i do too after 30 odd years of playing them.

First of all thanks for posting this panel from PAX East. It's great to see some of the similarities and differences in the perspectives of game journalists and developers. To me the best comment came at the end where Patrick responded to a fan question in regards to how people tend to focus only on a reviews score and are largely searching for personal validation rather than actual interest in the article.

Overall the whole panel reminded me of a Douglas Adams quote which I think sums up both sides rather nicely in a smarmy sort of way, "He attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which."

this was really cool, I'm glad some PAX panels were uploaded, since I think I'm not going to be able to go to one any time soon, haha
but this was very insightful, I'd also like to be a videogame journalist, it's just that here (in Mexico), not many people want to take place in it, maybe because there's no local studios or anything.
Maybe one day I'll end up working at G4, who knows, one can only dream, haha

    great job guys!
