question for abbie: how many times do you think you actually played the maps that you downloaded for Modern Warfare 1? i have three map packs for Halo 3 and hardly ever do i play them. you have a good point in that IW and Activision are in a PR nightmare right now and people will complain about it no matter what. $15 dollars does sound like a lot and throwing in some extra maps can help break-up playing all of the maps you have played hundreds of times before and i know that people will continue to play the game for loads of time, but shouldn't you get what you paid for and actually play on the maps and not just the ones that came on the disc?

I like probably everyone here (hosts included) hated on Just Dance, but somehow the game managed to make it onto my sisters Wii during a family gathering and I ended up playing it. Yes it is silly but it's actually fun. It reminded me a bit of playing a Wario Ware game, in the sense of half the fun is in looking like an idiot in front of a group of people.

It's as casual as a casual game can be but it's suppose to be and as sales have shown people really like it ,my non gamer friends and family sure did. I say this to jaded gamers, let your inhibitions go and give it a try when you have a group of mixed company over, you may surprise yourself.

Just Dance is a fun game even though it's really basic and the scoring system isn't too good. And it's a good workout. Really fun at parties when you have a couple drinks in you too. It's fun just watching your friends fail to mirror the dancers.

My girlfriend brought up wanting to be Captain America using the Move controls. She'd love to throw the shield around, and shield bash folks.

Consoles are the reason this sort of nickel and dime attitude has appeared, it's ironic that something dedicated to gaming has had such a detrimental effect.

i think the reason a lot of pc consumers are mad about $15 for DLC is because they took away dedicated servers and mod support for the PC. if the PC had those, it would of cost nothing and it would of allowed servers to take care of hackers and modders would of provided new maps for free. As a PC gamer i have never payed for new maps, its something i expect for free, and if i had bought MW2, which i didnt, for its lack of dedicated servers, then i would be just as pissed as many people are...

I think what really needs to happen is that we need to find a measurable standard for DLC so that we can quantify price points for DLC for example the first downloadible content for L4D was completely free, and it expanded the game-play in a way that was new and interesting. The time that content took to be boring may have been short because of the steep difficulty curve but they could have slapped at least five bucks on the thing and no one would have been the wiser. simply put all DLC is relative to how greedy the company is IW thought they were sitting on a gold mine and their gonna milk it for all its worth (witch by the way is a horrible businesses plan.)

i think move is going to sell very well because of those non informed parents and adults. They probably thought Ps3 was a good system when it came out because it can play blu-ray and games. Now if sony can reach that ever important price point in the bundle parents are going to say while the economy is in the crapper i can invest in the ps3 for a little higher price and get blu ray movies for the whole family, Wii similair games for the younger kids in a family, yet still controller controlled games for the teenager in the family. And i think those kind of family people will go out to buy it.

    @Motioncontrols vs. classic controlers..
I totally disagree! I'm coming from the PC sector, own a PS3 for a little over one year now and was sort of hating consoles before that :)
long story short: I'm still not used to the analog stick controler thing for shooters. I still just don't want to give away my mouse&keyboard combo for those sort of games where you need hand2eye precision. whenever possible I rather play on the PC (bioshock, Mass effect, ..) than console for that reason and if it's console only I'd rather pass on it (e.g. killzone, halo).
I didn't try out move yet but I can imagine that it gives you a very nice mouse-like experience in comparision to the dualshock. so yeah, freakin' give us move support for shooters even if you could totally play it with sixaxis as well.

I'd like to say officially that I trust G4's opinions implicitly while i take everyone else's with a grain of salt.

Also about the MW2 stimulus package: $15 isn't too much money for most IP's. HOWEVER, with all the rampant hacking I've seen on the PC version, I would pay $15 for a freaking vote kick option WITHOUT the maps. That being said, I'm still buying it, and I'll have to continue dealing with the hackers by knifing them in the back:|

Actually to the point Abbie was saying about and being fair to the developers that put out DLC content:

The difference is, I AM fair to them. I DO call their shiz out when they're overpriced. The one game that I would (most likely) purchase ANYTHING for, (my guilty pleasure), is Mass Effect. However, because I preordered ME2, DLC for the game is free. AND, Bioware didn't even air offensive ads about fighting grenade spam, or refuse to beta test their game because it was the best thing I'll ever play ever and I am not allowed a slice of it until I pay $60 for the game in it's entirety. . . . what a concept!
The only other DLC I purchased is/was Castle Crashers, which was not obscenely overpriced, and Fallout, whose DLC was also quite lengthy, and of the highest standard for what I paid for.

We can argue about how much we'll use the maps we buy, but the fact is, they're only maps. Not campaigns, not additions to spec ops, they're (probably) no bigger than any of the maps that are currently in the roster already.
My anger (which is actually far tamer than I assume the previous paragraphs alluded to :D) would be curbed had they not let their ego get the best of them, by airing said grenade-spamming-ads, or had they ACTUALLY beta tested their game. It's not actually the bugs or exploits themselves that get under my skin (get it, bug, under my skin, hahah... -_-), but rather that IW let their wallets get the best of them. They decided to forgo any beta testing to make my experience with MW2 the best it could have been and instead, massively hyped it through secluding a lot about info about the game.

NOW it comes to bite them in the infinity-arse, because they previously had very little real competition in the realm of FPS, however (coming from a dude who doesn't care for Halo) Halo Reach looks awesome, and EA has been catching a lot of people off guard and reverted (a lot of MY friends and associates) to their Battlefield Bad Company 2.

I LOVED the CoD series, but I just hope to see some improvements from IW not with their (already excellent) games, but with how they treat those of us who for out $60+ to play them.

I have a problem with how this post's headline was written. "Xbox 360 Eeks Out February Sales Win" 422,000 vs. 397,000 is pretty decisive.

wii hd is a horrible idea, unless it's high-end hardware, that's as powerful as a high-end PC, thus outdoing the PS3/X360. Otherwise, it would be a waste of resources because people would care so much.

Issue on the DLC for modern warfare 2: its great that they are remaking 2 maps from call of duty 4 because the multilayer maps on COD4 were the best maps ever in multilayer. Their is relay NO bad maps in COD4. The down fall is the 15$ price tag. If the maps were priced at an even 10$ i would still have some Microsoft points left over to change my name, and so on. Like what slayinfool said just not completely free 800MP/ 10$ is a good price. At the same time its not infinity wards fault that all the glitches, hacks, and server problems happened. People are selfish and cant play a game how its supposed to be played. You pay 60$-150$ game to have fun, to be entertained, not to be better then other people.

I have never paid once for any content patch ( DLC ) for Team Fortress 2. It's all about how the developer and publisher treat the customers. I prefer to play with the ones that dont rob me everytime there are new pixels to get.
