Feedback: Xbox 360 Wins February, Borderlands DLC, And When Is Gears of War 3?
We're back in Studio B after a long week at GDC, which we'll wrap up alongside the February NPD sales results, Epic Games' plans for 2010 and beyond, and a DLC sampler platter.

I have to say that I completely agree with Abie about the Modern Warfare 2 DLC drama that's been buzzing around. The amount of time you get out of map packs is still one of the best investments of entertainment that you can get for your money. While it would be NICE to see the map packs go for less making them an even bigger deal, the 15 price point isn't an earth ending thing. Games are still a business, and companies will strive to make money from them. As with any market prices will fluctuate and its just a fact of life. I really do think, a lot of the hatred that's being put onto this news is all of the bad press that Activision has accumulated because of the recent activision/IW events. With so much blood already in the water its not surprising to see the sharks come to kill. On a personal note, I plan to buy the map pack and I look forward to a reworked remake that allows me to play an old favorite with a new gameplay mechanic.

RE5 was awesome for me. Only because some Japanese dude would always join my games, stock me up with ammo, run me through the level, and get all the secrets.

I could watch these people talk about games 5 days a week, and maybe even on my TV. Sure would beat changing the channel to not watch COPS. Anyway I love the show, can't wait till next week. I want to hear you guys (and gal) mention certain rereleases and the monitary figures, i.e. GOW Collection and Perfect Dark XBLA. THANKS

    Wow Blair, wow!
As for the MW2 map pack. I feel if they charged a lower price they could make more money simply because it would encourage more people to buy it. Just my thoughts on that though.

what ticks me off about the price is that those are 2 maps I've already played, and paid for as part of my COD 4 experience. Why do I have to pay more for maps I've already paid for?

why should anyone have to pay 15$ for DLC maps when you already have to pay 60$ for a largely online game, that seems ridiculous to me, especially considering how much the single player in these FPS games suck

"Other Companies have done the same thing" (About the DLC pricing) Care to explain Abbie? What companies have priced their DLC at such high rates all things considered on what people are getting? And don't say "Bungie" because their maps have the ability to be used in forge and remade in many different ways making them well worth the price.

Whether or not there is sandboxing to be had, the price for the amount of information you are receiving for a map pack is what is at stake.

You are trying to make a point about equating map packs across games. This is like comparing Kratos to Solid Snake; this much we can agree. What I think they (G4 staff) are coming from is an understanding that DLC is DLC...is $15 worth this much of an addition to a game? While Halo is definitely a different experience than MW2, $15 is still $15 and I don't think I'll be getting those map packs immediately upon release.

When both map pack systems (Halo/MW2) are broken down its core value with regards to its original game you can see that each map pack benefits each system equally. What I'm trying to say is that the level of entertainment you receive from a map pack from Halo 3 benefits Halo 3 just as much as a MW2 map pack benefits MW2. In this regard, they are exactly the same; which begs the question, "Is $15 really worth it for this map pack?"

Fix the phraqing reply system on comments!!!

but if you look at Bungie, they had achievements, with those map packs, every map pack you could of gotten an achievement, and they didnt have effed up problems, and either way ill end up buying the map pack regardless, but it wouldnt hurt to save us 33%

Don't worry Abbie what some moronic fanboys have to say about anything. No need to stress over something you can't really change. Just keep staying awesome! :D

The thing I think they missed about the playstation move doing mostly dlc is who is buying dlc? If its not the causal people it must be the hardcore. And if its a game for 10-15 bucks and has motion control I might just bite. Cause one thing about dlc is no one sees what your walking out of the store with. The comparison is if your in your early 20's and you walk into gamestop and pick up a copy of pokemon your probably going to get some sideways glances from the clerk (not really a big deal but, enough to make me seriously think about buying online instead of one of the 3 gamestops in my area).

but anyway I think low priced motion control games makes sense, because if the hardware is going to be fricken expensive, it would be nice if you could get some cheap thrills with it. And whats crap at 60 might just be gold at 10.

Abbie getting all cute over Borderlands DLC + Blair's "Cable Guy" moment = best episode so far

the whole map pack issue thing had me fired but because i don't want to pay $15 for it, just give me less maps and charge me $10, the whole "stimulus package" sounds so ironic i can't help but feel being mocked as im being held at gun point, i just grow more tired of Activation's business practices

You know it's Saint Patrick's Day when Blair goes around flashing his chest and Adam threatens to piss/take a dump on you. Amazing Feedback as always!

I'm not sure what I liked better, the crazy things Adam was saying, or Abbie's and Patrick's reactions to them.
