At this point, I'm just glad that God of War 3 is out now, 'cuz I kindof got tired of all the UBER-coverage it received.
So much buzz & breath-holding..too much.

A little late, but the innappropriate puzzle Adam talks about I thought was pretty clever. All the symbols on the PS3 controller are ancient Greek letters. Circle (Omicron), Triangle (Delta), X (Chi), and Square (Pi), (in game you can see they didn't have the bottom line of the square connect, signifying Pi). That together with the fact it was the Muses having you play a song to pass made it a pretty fitting puzzle to me, though rather easy. If you didn't make the connection to the Greek alphabet I could see how it would stick out.

I have to completely agree with Adam on pretty much every point he made. The game kicked ass and I've told all my X-box loyal friends to buy a PS3 and get this game. I also thought the rhythme puzzle was the sore thumb of the game but it's still one of the best games I have played not only for this year but perhaps 2009 as well. BUY GOD OF WAR 3 YOU'LL BE SO HAPPY YOU DID.

my favorite part of GOW3 is when Adam shows up in the bonus video. (THE MAKING OF GOD OF WAR III)

If gaming gets any better than this they are going to have to send me to gaming rehab. These games are becoming absolutely addictive! GOW3 = 10, Uncharted 2 = 10, Mass Effect 2 = 10, MW = 10 (smh)

Just finished the game. I got it yesterday but I find the combat was awesome.. the way you could use every item you had and every weapon you had and incorperate it into a combo.. was just so much fun to really play with. I would use the boots to smash into enemies.. which would in turn send them flying in slow motion.. then range grab them to pull myself up in the air to them, then grab them again to smash them into the ground.. the combat far and away is the most fluid ever. Ninja Gaiden might be the most technically difficult with the variety of moves but try stringing all those combos together with all those weapons.. you cant do it. It would require an absurd amount of memorization to even accomplish.. and Devil May Cry? Please.. doesnt hold a candle.. so you have guns? Kratos has a bow and can juggle enemies in mid-air too! big whoop.

The ending was epic by far and my advice to everyone is.. WATCH THE CREDITS

Oh and Kevin Sorbo playing Hercules voice was a brilliant move on Sony's Part, springing for some big name talent.

I'm satisfied.. ill go back perhaps later on next month to try and get all the trophies.. but for now.. im drained.. back to FF13

You're right, but they're the same figure. Poseidon-Greek Mythology, Neptune-Roman Mythology. I'm not sure if that's what you meant lol, I'm pretty ocd about that stuff too since I take a Latin class and love Mythology

I'm hoping there's more God Of War games in the future, becuase it would suck, if this was the last one. I also hope for some DLC, such as new story missions, and bring the psp verson of God of War to the ps3.

This game has excellent gameplay, crisp graphics, and runs very smoothly. When I want to play an action game, I play God of War. It's the action game other action games play one their days off.

But don't get my started on the story. I feel that story has always been one of God of War's weakest points and that continues on in this one. I can't think of anyone that plays these games for their story. Don't get me wrong, it still does what it needs to - wraps up another excuse for you to go dispatch more bad guys in the flashiest way possible.

All in all, a great interview. I've liked God of War since it's first installment because of just how satisfying the combat is.

wierd, this was like a very accurate response to my submission for the feedback question of the week! And a very informative and insightful response! I don't know if you had planned this way beforehand or not, but thanks for the review. I think now that this game MGS4 and Uncharted 2 are all out it's about time to get a PS3...

I thought it was an excellent game and it also felt VERY short to me. My own nitpicky issues:

    1) I felt that the sudden emotional connection they create for Kratos late in the story, although vital in wrapping up the arcing storyline in a satisfactory manner, to me felt abrupt and not very developed or justified, especially for this bloodthirsty Spartan who is, literally, flushing the whole world down the toilet without a second thought or ounce of remorse (countless men, women, AND children) in his bloody quest for revenge.

    2) My biggest irritant: Maybe it was just me, but it felt like a lot of the R1 zones (for save points, chests, etc.) were either very small or very sensitive to what the camera might do (or both). Several times I had to move around to get the camera to reorient before a save point or other would activate.

I definitely agree with everyhting Mr. Sessler said. Especially about how the muse puzzle wasn't "organic"... but was necessary to continue. I think it was a nice change, and a different style of puzzle for the game(in a good way). Although that opinion is from me being a drummer, having natural rhythm. I can see that being annoying for someone is isn't musically/rhythm inclined(No offense to those that aren't). GoW3 is simply, in one word, amazing, I haven't been this impressed since Uncharted 2. I don't know which one is better... :/ however, I believe they are two completely different styles of games, so it's hard to determine that.

I thought Adam is in charge of only X-Play, but both X-Play and G4, wow, that's impressive. What kind of boss is Adam? Is he a nurturing understand boss or does he rule G4 with an iron fist?

I think this is a awesome game and the End of a epic game ( Epic epic epic ) I didn't know they is a God Hero puzzle , thanks Adams you spoile my game, maybe they don't going to make another GOW game but maybe Kratos God Band Hero LOL. Just Joking guys don't get mad with me. UMMM I Bet they going to do a new game after the Gods , new caracter ( No kratos ) they say something like that. Maybe with Athena and the Zodiac like the Crash of the Titans .

I completely agree with Adam about the Muse "puzzle". My friends tend to ask me to write game reviews for them because I'm the big gamer of the group and I was sitting there trying to think if there was anything bad I could say about this game and my mind instantly went to that puzzle. I remember walking into the shimmering room and just panning it with my eyes and smack dab in the middle was a PS control pad. It's felt so weird and out of place to me, even in the previous titles when they showed the PS buttons they at least made them look like a part of the setting where this was just...there.

The puzzle it's self made sense, a music puzzle in a Muse chamber but it just felt like something happened during development where time became a issue and there was nothing they could do. Like they had it like that for testing and they forgot to change it. It's like adding a red dot to a Picasso, you might end up noticing it, if you do you won't be sure if it was there on purpose or not and even though it stands out to you and makes you scratch your head your still able to enjoy the overall painting

Great review but this game has me so happy that i could not understand what it was that made me love it so much more then any other game has so far and ive been gaming for sometime. with that said and all do respect to adam, this game is so mind blowing that no words from any review can do it justice. i am so happy with it that words simply wont work, its needs to be played to really understand, at lest thats how i feel. in fact!......i would even go as far to say over all the hype and so on and how blown away i am by it i feel the game is underrated. but maybe thats just me being so happy with it idk..
