I think that the purpose that Sony created the move was because it adds another plus to the Playstation 3 family and capabillites, not to revolutionize the gaming world. Even though its not all that! Its stil a great addition and I plan on getting it in the fall.

im not a hard core gamer but im not one of those little 5 year old ones and honsetly this is my input motion control plus ps3 plus 360= bad. they need to perfect it first and it is clear by what have seen it is going to fail. the only one with an advantage is the ps3, because if motion control is optional that means no crappy quality while the 360 is going to near wii graphics. sorry if you dont agree this is my opinion and I dont give a crap if you dont like it, if you do then good but dont whine like a bunch of babys if you dont

Seriously guys. You can NOT call yourself a true gamer if you are not willing to allow the gaming world to take risks and evolve. I'm totally with Adam where even if Move and Natal fail, oh well. It's not like we won't be getting the next InFamous or Fable. Stop bashing Sony and MS for trying something different and wait until it's actually released to pass judgement. For the rest of us, let us allow the anticipation to consume us. The more we support technology like this, the more likely they are to be successful in sales AND quality.

I'm with you Adam. I will gladly put up the money for new doodads for my ps3 once a proper Light Saber game is released.

I like the motion control people complain that the we doesn,t make you move but it does it gets you to be creative and it allows you to choose if you want to use the motion control and when the games for wii are good there really fun the move to me well I could not buy it even if I wanted to because i dont have a ps3.

I couldn't disagree with Adam more when he says there is room for all types of games and that one type doesn't affect the success of other types. The gaming world is not like a modern bookstore with 100,000 new titles every year and something for everyone. It is much more like the movies where there are only 100 releases every year. And if we are going to spend 300 million dollars making Avatar then a lot of other movies are NOT going to get made. The same is true of gaming. The dev teams working on silly motion games by definition cannot be working on the next Borderlands or Fallout 3. Every bit of time and effort going into Heavy Rain (which is not even a game-it's a movie you interact with on a console) is subtracted from a potentially good hardcore title. May these motion titles and non-gaming titles fail miserably for the sake of true gaming fans.

the PS3 move has one thing going agaisnt and for it:
pro: the similarity to the Wii motion controls allows it to be instantly recognizable and easy to understand to those people heard about the wii-type of controls. So it could be like buy Pespi instead of coke.
con: the fact that it's basically the PS3 motion ++, many of those titles will come down to gameplay, so it's going to about who has the best studios and publishers. I personally think that Sony could get the best of it, because Nintendo owns the Wii market by a mile, but in the PS3 many third party publishers will be able to shine, compared to the Wii where if it ain't Nintendo, people instantly buy less, or skip.

doesnt look like it will be the greatest thing ever but i will buy it and play pga on it and the fighting game, i just like trying new things. Natal ill get just to flip through netflix with no controller and turn it on and off with no controller. It's kinda like having a girl friend that doesnt nag :)

Hey Adam when you ask Lucasarts about the lightsaber game could you please ask them about an even less likely game I would love to be made, another Gladius?

Yes, a good lightsaber game would be awesome, saw the earlier post mentioning it is already there for Force Unleashed for Wii, may have to check that out and see how well it works. Don't know how force powers work on FU on Wii, but the perfect Star Wars game for me would not only use the Motion Plus, Move, or Natal for the saber, but I want to be able to use a nunchuck or like accessory to thrust my left hand and see force push or hold my left hand up and see the lighting attack, while I can still swing my right hand away with the saber. Eventually someone with our dream will do this, so if any of you developers see this, hurry the hell up and make it happen.

Lightsaber game... I wonder if anyone remembers that Starwars trilogy arcade game. I want to see that as a console game

Honestly I love the fact that sony is actually giving you the choice to use move or the dualshock 3. There are some Wii games where the motion controls are a hinderance to the gameplay and I would have rather had a standard controller so Many props to sony for giving gamers the option to choose!

I'm sorry Adam but I must disagree with you. The fact that games can be played with both move and Dualshock dose not degrade the impact of the move.

    For 2 reasons:

1)I have never heard the Move be described as a revolutionary device, really. It was more of, Hey you like the Wii, Yes, well good because we can do that too and we can do it better. Now this point maybe just because of my lack of news about the Move since it was first demoed. But that is the feeling I get from Sony. So by including two different ways to play feels more like Sony saying "Here is a great game play it as you please."

2)For my second point please fallow this short story. Family A has a PS3 for the oldest son/daughter and they have a Wii for the family night. Then Move comes out and the eldest child tells the family about it. They buy it. Play some of the games and enjoy it. So they a) get red of the Wii to buy more move controllers b) just have both systems. Then the EC gets Socom and is playing it another member of the family sees it and wants to play but isn't good with a Dualshock but the can play along with the EC (eldest child) using the move. And so the other member enjoys it and becomes a fan of the series. Now the company gets another loyal costumer. After some time the other member stars using the Dualshock and becomes a hardcore gamer.
To sum it up putting both controllers in a game can make all games a gateway game.

I'd love to read everyones opinion on the points I have just made.

Hope you feel better Adam, and i totally agree give us a lightsaber game!!!!!!!! I still think that with the new motion controls: move, natal, and even wii motion plus there can be some very fun and innovative/creative games that could possibly reach the hardcore. The lightsaber game could be such a great idea. Nothing like slicing people in half and then use force powers. Perhaps Red Steel 2 could show a better premise of where these kind of games can go. That's if it does well, but so far it does look pretty good.

I see potential disaster for Sony and Microsoft. The audience that they are trying to reach already own Wiis, which probably are not being used that much as it is. Are they really going to shell out for a new system? Nintendo making the Wii a desirable commodity to the "casual market" had very little to do with motion control itself, more to do with clever marketing and timing.
anyway...as you can probably tell , I'm one of the "apathetic leaning towards negative" people when it comes to Move and Natal....
