The 360 is the reason why FFXIII is so linear...
Square Enix had to cut so much (just from the CG scenes and audio) so it can fit in 3 dvd disc.
They want it to be fair for both console gamers so they didn't add mini games or towns...because if they did add those, the 360 version will have about 6 dvd discs (or even more).

If the thought of swapping discs every dozen hrs or so horrifies you, install the discs on HDD.

PS3 version was brighter with better looking textures.

360 was darker and nowhere near as smooth as the PS3 was.

You could cleary see it more once the gameplay actually started, which was only for like 10 seconds though. >__>

not enough difference to matter. it is a game that is designed with the cell processor so the normal texture problems that happen with ports will not be there. it is all the same, the major difference always comes from how the processor renders the image.

they look about the same. I didn't know 360 users would have to use multiple disks, so that sucks for them.

I have never been impressed by FF CGI I mean its not even using the processor its just a movie, and when it comes to CGI Pixar puts FF to shame.

Either way FF looks stupid, why would I wanna watch this fluffy tutu movie with insane over acting. And the game play graphics are ok not that great, and thats the games graphics not the movie.

Red faction had CGI cutscenes and no one talked about that as its graphics why is this any different.

Excuse me as I go watch UP on blue ray and get blown away.

It's tough to see on this jumpy video. There are better comparisons with still images and whatnot by groups that compare lots of multi's between 360 and PS3 (note: 360 normally comes out slightly on-top). The 360 has a definite decrease in quality (saturation, anti-alising, contrast), and it's evident to me on still images. Plus, the stats don't lie, they did downgrade visuals to a point that should be noticeable to the human eye. I would rather have it on the 360 myself, but I'm gonna PS3 this one. Just mho.

I've also read posts of folks having both versions and having lag problems due to video processing on 360. Haven't seen video-evidence, so who knows...

I don't think people complaining about more then one disc are being "lazy" I think it's just not normal anymore, in a way it's taking a step backward since we have made tremendous improvements in our storage capabilities on discs.

So don't try to justify it because it's been done in the past, with mentality like that we will still be stuck in the dark ages.

Well with the video based on Cinematic clips I would have to say that the PS3 seem to be better. The colours and effects seem to be smoother and clearer versus the 360 version. I would like to see a game play comparison before jumping to any for gone conclusions.

http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-47 8406.aspx - One of many reports stating the 360 version is running at 576p

I have to admit they are alot closer than I had anticipated; however it does seem to be slightly crisper on the the ps3. Though if this is the only difference, Square did a great job porting it over to the 360.

and yeah id like to have seen a little more gameplay in the comparison considering, i assume, theres more gameplay than cutscenes..

this isnt the first game on the 360 that had multiple discs so i dont think its a big deal..and theres not enough of a difference in the looks to sway me to the ps3 side...also achievements are a little more satisfying than trophys for some reason.. so yeah theres not enough reasons for me to get it on the ps3...

I find it childish and stupid that all comments that say that the 360 version looks better are being downranked. I suspect that it's Sony Faboys that are pissed that the 360 got FF XII ported at all. Fark this crap.

/Go ahead and down rank me into oblivion. I could care less.

What the point of this argument? There a number of multi-platform games that look better on the 360 due to developer laziness.. but in this instance it has pretty much already been proven that the PS3 version of FF XIII is the superior iteration in the HD graphics department both due to DVD compression and the fact that the 360 version is running at 576p as opposed to 720p on the PS3.

I did notice a very slight difference in detail level on the PS3 side, but I'll be honest, I don't think anyone is going to be able to tell when they are playing the game. It is so minimal, its crazy. And yes I have both consoles. the only bump the PS3 gets is cause of the number of disks in my opinion.
