What's funny is that even if the PS3 version is better I still got the 360 version over buying it for my PS3. The Ps3 version doesn't look that much better, just brighter.

I don't see why all of you psycho fan boys are having such a heated debate over this. It's easily one of the best looking games ever on each system. So the ps3 has bit richer colors then the 360, who the hell cares? Either way I guarantee you'll enjoy looking at it and most likely playing it. Instead of debating on which amazing looking game looks more amazing, We should all be incredibly appreciative how far graphics have come in just 6 or 7 years let alone a decade.

Also I forgot to post this part in the first post I did, but I played both at 1080p on my consoles and that's where you can see the major differences in quality. It's more noticable in gameplay then the cutscenes.

The PS3 version is the better version, but that's a given considering it was original made for it and then ported to the 360. I have both versions and the clear winner is the PS3 version. Also I think the native scan for it is 576i or something and I've also noticed in some cutscenes that split image thing some games have on the 360 that never appeared in the PS3 version. Also why did they stack the disc on top of each other in the 360 box? Every time a JRPG comes out it's in one of those boxes and my shrink wrap game's discs are always scratched!!!! >:(

Why are they even comparing them? Most of us normies aren't lame enough to own both systems so as to be burdened with the life altering decision of which version to buy.

yea, i agree with damn near all these comments
theres a slight diff in quality, and when watching the vid, to me there were sum parts that 360 did better and ps3 on others, like when they were in the ship thingy. it looked like the ps3 side had a yellow tinge... and that would annoy the hell out of me... but on the other hand they ps3 destroyed the 360 on environments just due to the 720.
this is coming from a pc gamer :p lol so be happy u have the damn game lol

Wow, the PS360 has a serious screen tearing problem. :D

So much for the fanboys, they are almost identical, the PS3 has an edge but who ever bought a system because of a 2% difference in graphics? It all just looks damn good to me. If I thought the gameplay was as good I'd be playing it right now, but due to the reviews I'm gonna wait a few days and see what people have to say on the forums.

They both look great however, I gotta give the PS3 version the advantage for a brighter, clearer image. Also if you pause it, you will notice much better hair textures of the lead female chatracter, "Lighting", on the PS3 version.

People who say there is a large difference are clearly fan boys of a specific console. The difference is so minimal that playing the game on either console will have the exact same gaming experience. I would highly doubt that someone that had played the game on a PS3 would notice a difference if he/she were to see it on a 360 at a friends house for example. I'll admit PS3 has an advantage in that it has 1 disk as opposed to 3 (Although if you had a brother with a 360 as well as yourself, you could but one copy of the game, and then when one of you get to disk 2, the other could play the game at the same time on disk 1, which is kind of an advantage..)

Most dumb comparison ever, by showing almost only the video compression between a DVD and a Bluray; they should have shown the realtime rendering to discuss the capabilities of the 2 consoles (a fe secs at the end to show the real)

Pretty good comparison, even tho most of it is cutscenes. We all know the 360 running at 576p and ps3 running at 720p which i'm pretty sure can definitely be upscaled to 1080p with the HD inputs. Alot of people are considering the 1 disc vs. 3 discs. Me personally i want it on 360 due to the fact that, FFXIII is on another platform which has been a long time coming. And I love the achievement factors and chatting options. And personally my PS3 has been collecting dust since MSG4 and uncharted 1 and 2 and i mostly use it for blu-rays. Now i finally just dusted it off for Heavy Rain. Personally I love the multi disc scheme. It feels so classic and old school that i can't get away from it and plus i love to the be the odd man out just to start an arguement with my friends..lol. Given im only 25 yrs old, i can't shake the habit. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and i can rate how far i am into the game and story. So i'm pretty sure with which every copy you get, you've get the same experience.. unless some patch or sumthing comes out and the game crashes.. (ps3) HAHA.. just jokin. Peace.

There is noticeable difference if you look at them...

The PS3 has higher detail textures. If you look at the robes for example there are creases where there should be, but in the 360 version they are flat and missing those creases. This can be seen on just about everything if you look close enough, but if you're not looking it's near imperceptible...until you've seen it the first time and then you continuously notice it... kinda like that Lovecraft novel where there is a world hidden beyond the world that we don't see but the moment we're able to view it, we're never able to be blind to it again.

This isn't very important...and if you're judging a game based on that you aught be slapped.

Personally, the 360 hardware is just overall badly put together and causes issues in my experience so any game that I can get for either and there is no draw other than just the game (like some games have done) I'd always rather just get the PS3 version.

The 360's sound and video is compressed across 3 dvd's where as the ps3 version is nicely put on blueray without any of that. the ps3 version is not just slightly better like this video would have you only look for. Also, IT'S A FF GAME ON A 360..............yeah, have fun then!

I got Final Fantasy XIII on my Xbox360 ( with the faceplate!! thank you! my friends at gamestop!!) I got it runing on widescreen LCD with a VGA hook-up! The ONLY time when I see it get pixalated is during the FMV...everything else is simply...STUNNING and very awesome to look at!!! So to $ony fanboys ( like Sergeant_Fox) go jump off a bridge into LAVA!!! I'll resume playing Final Fantasy XIII on my Xbox360!

its amazing how much better the ps3 version looks compared to the crap box 360. during the fast paste action during the cut seen. it was clear how blurry the 360 version look. there color were darker you could see the pixel it almost looked last gen...by looking at the video its obvious that this game should have never been on the crap box 360 anyway.

Seriously, I can't tell the difference. There's a slight difference in brightness, but that's all. I own both systems, but at the time of reserving I didn't. I kept it for the 360 because changing discs isn't a big deal to me... plus, achievements!
