Guys,
You really need to get the podcasts up quicker for iTunes subscribers. I depend on podcasts to listen to this show, and the delay is getting absurd.

^-- This. The novelty wears thin after so many decades, to be frank.
More and more I find myself wishing the option to just say, "Shut the hell up about your daddy issues and focus on the ____ mission before I designate you a threat to the squad!" and not have significantly negative consequences for reminding them they have more important things to worry about.
If the fate of so many is at stake, why should it matter whether the single-most qualified team member has one measly (and altogether insignificant) quarrel occurring elsewhere? Issues big enough to draw your attention should be BIG, with REAL IMPACT; at the same time, it should be viable to prioritize the end-goal over one minor contrivance.
One novel idea is giving the player direct control of exactly who is involved in whatever is going on. Don't like that one guy's _____ing? Remove him. Permanently. Avoid all the unnecessary banter altogether and be better off for it.

More games, less industry gossip. game developers aren't rock stars. just my two cents.

I loved Adam's reaction to Kingdom Hearts. I actually got caught up more in the RPG storyline, so I didn't get that. Also, it took me 4 hours to get really into FFXIII.

CAKE WAS PORTAL :D
REV EFFECT
god i hate k/d padders especially in COD MW2 where its just rediculous. im tired of playing an objective type match like headquarters or capture the flag and win just to hear some 14 year old brag how he at least had a k/d of 38/4 even though it isnt a death match and i am sad to hear the samething is going on in a game filled with objective modes like battlefield but i guess thats to be expected these days. anyways yet another great feedback. loved what adam said about sora and patricks comments on fallout.

Feedback is such a fantasic show, great job guys. Everyone clicks well in this one and super funny too. Spot on with the review of BC2 and really got it right with FF and jrpgs as a whole. Can't wait till next week!

Snipers are cowards, I hate playing CTF only to find that i'm the only one on my team going for the flag, while my team hides with there sniper guns.

Hey, I just realized, if Pfister's birthday was yesterday, then he has the same birthday as Chuck Norris. HOLY $#%@

Just wanted to say: best Feedback ever. Between the questioning of Final Fantasy (a game I've never been able to get into), Patrick's 'Fallout looks polished!' line and getting stuck in a pothole, and Adam somehow thinking it is possible for Pfister to near his own age, I laughed the whole time through.
If they give awards to podcasts, you guys deserve one. And if they don't you yet, should be the first recipient with this entertaining performance.

An Archer Daniels Midland reference in Feedback. I never thought I'd see the day.

No cake?! You bastards! I was in the mood for cake too! Cinnamon streusel swirl is my favorite, I looooove cinnamon.
Anyway, I've been saying that for a while too, Feedback needs to be on G4! Someone start a petition..
I have to agree with them on FF13, it's really not my cup of tea, and every since that 1 main guy who was in charge left, FF has just been very different. If I'm not mistaken, those people that left SE because they weren't happy for whatever reason, I think they're the ones who made Lost Odyssey, I may be wrong, but I'm sorta sure, because I remember people telling me something like that. I may get it used from Amazon 1 of these days, it's like $9-10 used.
I will rent FF13, and at least give it the time of day, planning on renting it this weekend for 1-2 days, because as much as I didn't like FF12, and hated FFX-2, I still respect SE somewhat and used to like their games. Will I buy it for $60, hell no, would I maybe buy it for $20-30 used, yeah, maybe, renting it this weekend hopefully will determine whether it's worth getting used for around that much.
See, quite a few people are saying the lack of towns, mini-games, and side quests are no big deal, but to me, basically, side stuff, anything that makes a game last longer, makes it worth that $60. Fallout 3, any GTA from GTA 3 and on, as examples, are easily worth $60, because there's a lot to do, or a lot you can screw around with. Hell, I still have fun screwing around in GTA IV. GTA 3 was probably the best $50 I spent on a game either in a long time, or in my 20+ years of playing games, I believe it was the first game I played like that, what some refer to as a "sandbox" game. Looking back at how much use, fun, and experience I got out of GTA 3, heck, I'd easily fork out a $100 for that game, or would have back then for say GTA: Vice City, after having played GTA 3, as a quick example.
I'm sorry, but I very, very, VERY rarely ever buy a game that is short, unless I later get it used for about half price, roughly. Taking away exploring, side stuff, and mini stuff/games, deceases it's worth, easily, at least to me, regardless of how good the story is.
FFX for example, had Blitzball, legendary weapons (I never did succeed in dodging the lighting in the Thunder Plains what was it, 200 times in a row I think, for Lulu's weapon), hidden Aeons, finding all 26 Al Bhed primer books to decipher the language, the Monster Arena, and just other secretive little things that Square is known for, like, how to getting the Jecht shot for Blitzball (which helped a LOT), you had 1 opportunity to get it, by talking to someone at a certain point in the game I think, can't remember exactly. Just, stuff like that, or, you thought you saw a treasure chest in a little nook, that you can only see if the camera is a certain way, because it's so well hidden. THAT is the stuff I miss, along with the usual that's already been mentioned. Doesn't sound or seem like FF13 has any of this.
People are trying to point out that FF's have always been linear, to the people that are complaining about the linearity in FF13, but what they don't understand, is that's not the case. We know there's a degree of linearity, that's common sense for most RPG's, at least non-western ones that is, also known as "JRPG's", it's the "extremity" OF the linearity that is annoying some people, I mean, it's basically like walking in a straight line most of the time, I've never played an FF that was THAT linear, even the beginning of FF7 wasn't that "off-limits" like, you could still explore somewhat, and there was side stuff. Someone else made a good reference to the Cocoon portion, at least, referring to it as a "museum" of sorts, look but don't touch, nothing to interact with/touch, and unable to explore at all really, or talk to NPC's, you just "overhear" what they say when you're near them. Even the Gran Pulse area of the game, the part where the game opens up, is very linear. Sure, you have this big open world, but there's really nothing to do IN it, there's no point in exploring because there's really nothing to "explore", it's just filled with monsters.
I also like my JRPG to have a mode of transportation, because I like to be able to explore. I've played a ton of RPG's, the list would probably be easily around the 40 or 50 mark, so I know that usually around 40% through the game, that's when you get a boat, an airship, or something of the like, then the game really opens up. or, you get 1 mode then later on around the 60% mark roughly, you get a different mode, like in Dragon Quest/Warrior 3, there's a boat then later a bird (Ramia, same bird in DQ8 btw) to fly, in Lufia & the Fortress of Doom you have an airship that can eventually go under water as well, after some quests. Or maybe it was vice-versa, the sub then the ability to fly, hell, I can't remember, played that game back in 1994 or something. Point is, yes they are all linear, but then open up, and open up for a reason, and there's actually things you can do, places to go/explore, quests to get, or in the case of say Suikoden (loved the 1st & 2nd games, 3rd, sort of, 4th, meh..did not like), people to recruit, and otherwise, mini stuff to do, which is FUN, and makes the game more worthwhile to buy. Anyway, that is my mindset.
