The clunky controls made this demo go down hill quick. I'll pass on this game.
I know its probably needed but i thought that the base jumping line was way to early and some of the physics were not as good as they could have been when it came to the character. the aiming was off too but the rest of it seemed enjoyable.
Yeah it's great. Mindless sandbox fun. I probably won't be buying it on release (mainly because I'll be busy with God of War 3) but I might pick it up later this year.The demo is enough for me at the moment, anyway.
Looking through the comments, I'm getting the impression that the ones unimpressed with the game are all a bit older for gamer crowd standards (like myself), and those going crazy about it seem to be in the younger (and in some cases, much younger) crowd, as is evident by their use of txt-speak and total lack of punctuation. Case in point:"u gotta to be kidding me that demo was awesome what r u dead"Mind you, I'm not saying everyone who liked this game falls into this category. I just had to pick one to make my point for the "much younger" crowd point of view.
If graphics and gimmicks were all that it took to make a good game, then this game would be great. However, for those of us that look for something a little more in our games, Just Cause 2 is just a little lacking. Sorry, just didn't make me want to keep on playing after that timer ran out. Hell, I think the timer is the only thing that kept me playing that long. "Only 5 minutes left? Eh, might as well, might find something worthwhile." Only I didn't.I'll be saving my money for more worthwhile games, thank you very much.
The play mechanic reminds me of mercs 2 and so does the flow of the interaction with the environment. Unfortunately, the taste I experienced from the story seems like mercs 2 as well. It's obviously running off the same engine and the firing mechanics were slightly less forgiving.....GAMEFLY!!!!!!!!
The game has some unique and interesting elements to it, but it's truly hard to say how good it was with only 30 minutes to play around. There's nothing to stop us from going back in a few more times so why bother with a time limit?
The best part about the demo was grappling to a gas tank, shooting it, and flying 5,000 feet into the air as it rockets away. But yeah, the grappling in this game is a big plus.
The game reminds me of a cross between Bionic Commando & Mercenaries. Also having a timed demo sux. I will have to wait for the full game to give a final judgment. My score for the demo 3/5 stars.
This game is great, I still havent figured out how to parachute glide as far as what the video diaries showed,but it shows that this game does have a great learning curve,and I think it will be lots of fun,I'm still wondering if you can swim underwater and if there's secret bonuses under the blue drink. There's a few questions that still peak my curiousity,but this looks like our only hope for a while to come,please let this be good....no...great!
I was impressed. I am reminded of another open-world game that I purchased recently- Red Faction Guerilla. The developers of this game know that open world action games are all about causing chaos and destruction. An open world game that rewards you for doing this seems like a logical and natural fit. The demo also showed great improvement from the first- both in terms of graphics and gameplay. While it may not be earthshatteringly original, I suspect based on the demo that the game will have solid reviews.
The demo was so so. I have a hard time finishing sandbox games. By the time I finish GTA4, SR2, Red Faction Gorilla, and Prototype(don't really want to finish that one), JC2 should be pretty cheap... but I don't think I'll buy it. The size of my video game library is becoming a little embarrassing.BTW, Lars Von Trier's "The Antichrist" is available to stream on Netflix. It's worth checking out.
This was an AMAZING demo.I completely see the bit of "Spiderman" tossed in the recipe.The grapple hook theme is fun and you can get quite creative with it.Also, looking at the map, I realized how insanely large this game is.The demo boundaries look so small, but yet it's actually pretty big after you play around on it.I'm definitely buying this game.I think there should definitely be more games like this with more and more freedom.Linear and fixed gameplay gets boring to me.The freedom really gives it that "playground" theme everyone loves.
thought it was decent. loved paracuting through the roofs of cars to escape the cops. not bad. hopefully a good game.
Remember folks this is an open world/sandbox game. Yes the trailers will be exciting, but the game won't play itself the way GOW, Uncharted 2, and MGS does. You have to actually "play" the game, even going beyond the usual play format and,....yes being creative.Not everyone likes these games. Some people are all about trailers and cut scenes. Some people like actual game-play.
The cool part like the car surfing and the hook are neat but they dont really make up for the other parts that seem not finished. This games is a rent to till it ends up in GameStop's under 20 dollar bin.

Except for the timer, the gameplay was great and so were the visuals. I only found around 4 weapons (other than the pistol) to play with: assault rifle, sniper, SMG, and a grenade launcher. I also found a pretty fast SUV when I did some exploring. Great demo, worth playing, but that timer BS has to go.
This demo is really good. I never played the first one, but this is a seriously kick-ass game/demo. Why does it have to have a timer! :(
I was looking forward to playing the demo but was very disappointing, I thought it was boring.
