I'm really excited about this game. Like Xxblink7, the first game was really addictive even though it had some serious issues. But I won't be bothering with the demo for a couple of reasons:

    1. I'll be getting the game no matter what. I might get screwed, a la Mercenaries 2, but that has to happen at least once a year to keep me appreciating good titles anyway.

    2. I think companies don't get how a demo works on the consumer. (or at least, on me) The thing to do is to let me get really into a game, forget the thing is a demo, and suddenly pull the rug out from under me when things get good. Having a timer is just going to fill me with anxiety and I get enough of that watching Lost, thank you very much.

I saw somewhere that Sony has patented the idea of degrading demos. That would be fine if they actually gave me more, but demos have recently become un-fun in their brevity. Give me a full level or two, let me see what the game really has to offer. The Heavy Rain demo was brilliant as an example.

i have not played the demo, but i have the first game and i am obsessed with it! i really wanted the second one. the first game had no polish what so ever! that did not bother me, the fun was in the game no matter how many times i did the same mission for the guerillas!

I liked the first one, so I hope the second one works as well.

I might consider picking this game up myself. Though the time limit on the demo is lame, it is satisfying to use your grappling cable to hit the villagers and just blow crap up.

I tried the demo, it had a lot of potential. The variety in the mission it gives you was great start; go here, break into base, steal intel, take a heli to a car chase, land on the car and steal it, escort the civilian, and a ton of shooting in between. Hook shot was fun to experiment with. Im just worried about the rest of the missions, could lead to repeating themselves. Apparently that was a problem with the first game. As a final thought for the demo, I would probably wait for the reviews.

ok here is what you do...grapple onto one of the exploding cans (the ones that shoot up when you shoot them enough)...once you grapple onto it (try aiming at the top of it) aim down and shoot at the bottom of it...once it blows out it will rocket you into the air

when i found that you could do this i almost died laughing...its tons of fun

funny how the free roam method turned people off who called it "boring" and it seems those who were a little more creative with their 30 minutes loved it.

It's like Mercenaries with a little bit of Spider-Man thrown in for good measure. The gameplay concept of creating Chaos to proceed is intriguing, though ultimately just boils down to completing objectives like any other third-person action/adventure title.

The controls badly need a lock-on function of some sort as aiming any weapon is a test of patience and the need for motion sickness meds. If it weren't for the simple thrill of latching on to something with the grappling hook and then using my momentum to open my parachute and glide for kilometers at a time, either to get out of the heat of battle or just to go cruisin', this would have been an instant pass.

The in-game presentation is decent, but the voice acting and cutscenes are just sad by today's standards (maybe even yesterday's) and don't even provide that "so-bad-it's-good" conceit I'm sure the developers were hoping for.

If the mission structure adds some variety outside the timing of this demo and can maintain a good flow of combat and high-speed grappling, then this could warrant a solid rental/GameFly pick. Otherwise, it's just yet another fun concept mired in boring game design (hello, Spider-Man 2).

This was really disappointing. The gamelplay footage made it look great, but when you actually play the game, it falls short. The controls are sluggish. The auto aim works great for the grappling hook, but it's terrible when it comes to gunplay. Plus the 30 minute timer is a bad idea.

t was fun for about five minutes, but once the grapling hook novelty of the grappling hook wares off it became really boring.

I might jump back into the demo. I wasn't sure what to do, but I might give it another go.

It would make for a fun "Im-bored-and-want-to-tie-some one-to-a-helicopter-then-drop- it-onto-a-gas-station" time waster. The voice acting wasnt great, the female characters voice is horrible. Ill pick it up used in a few months.

i really liked it, just zipping around and blowing stuff up, the game is just massive, i got my hand gun to lvl 3 before the demo time ran out, i cant wait to get my hands on the full game

Not bad, but not worth $60 bucks. It will probably show up somewhere used for $8.99 before the end of the year and then maybe I'll grab it.

really wished they had included a zoom in feature while parachuting. i found it really hard to aim over the shoulder and had to use R3 alot. the physics are cool except for the ragdoll effects. and i found it hard to go from the back of a car to the front.one more thing, anyone know how to destroy the giant cranes? i've tried everything.lol overall fun experience. just wish they would tweak the controls a bit.

I was really, really surprised by how cool this demo was. The stuff you can do is pretty damn awesome. Parachuting out of high speed cars, jumping off cliffs and grappling onto trees, blowing crap up.... really, really cool.

This game will completely blow away Mercenaries.
