Feedback -- The PS3 Clock Glitch and Trouble At Infinity Ward
The two hot topics of this already busy week were the PS3 having time management issues, and Infinity Ward just having regular management issues. Team Feedback discusses both.

With regards to the IW/Activision saga, I think very few people are going to be one Activision's side. Personally I've stopped being surprised at what people/companies are willing to do in the quest for more money.

As for your take on Other M: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

When it was announced it was being made by Team Ninja I was curious.
When they said "story will play a big part" I was skeptical.
When they showed that Samus was voiced, I was devastated.

Being a relative newcomer to the Metroid series I haven't played many of the older titles, but I love the sense of loneliness, the sense of self-reliance that came with playing a Metroid game. I also love the fact that the character is mostly undeveloped which allows the player to adapt her to how they want her to be. It's the same thing with Half-Life. The fact that the character never talks would make for a crappy movie, but I think it makes for a better game.

For me, at least, Other M is going to be the game that I refuse to acknowledge unless the gameplay is flawless. And even then we'll have to see whether I play it or not.

From what I've heard, Infinity Ward wanted to make a new IP, and Activision wouldn't let them.

I find Activision to be everything wrong with gaming. They're the new EA, hell, they're worse. They limit creativity in order to rake in as much money as possible, and kill franchises. Remember when Guitar Hero was a respectable game? Call of Duty? Tony Hawk? They all started out great, and Activision and Bobby Kotick.milked them to death.

The recent occurrence of the apocalyps3 is and always will be unsettling to me (don't even own a PS3) because it shows us how incredibly fine the line between hard-copy and download based software is. Of course it is extreme to bring up thoughts of "skynet" and the inevitable "end of the world" but I find this scary in JUST the gaming sense.

I fear buying "DLC" because potentially, I can sit down to enjoy it only to find out that, for whatever reason, I can't play...or even it is not available. If I spend 60 dollars on a game, and I can't access it for any reason when I have a hard-copy of it...I want some answers. Do you think this will ever be a problem in the future, or will the servers we access be so well serviced that potential loss will never occur?

The instant Sterling mentioned reselling Shadow Complex the idea of an XBLA Auction house popped in my head.

Other M is another example of how nintendo has lost touch with their core audience.
But to be 100% honest, nintendo never cared about metroid, or else they wouldn't have taken so long to green light a metroid after super metroid, AND they would have probably developed it in house.

I know you guys are all doing the whole tech talk about whats going on with activision and everything, but I had to ask this question. Can we please get back to game realted shows, and things that focuses on these type of topics back on G4 the network??? I mean I think the only two shows that even address real gaming topics that we are interested in is AOTS and X-play. I mean I love ninja warrior, don't get me wrong, but I would rather watch a block of game related tv, then 3 hours of Ninja Warrior followed by 4 hours of Cops!! Please can you guys include more gaming shows into your network and get back to what you guys were in the beginning...A network dedicated to gaming??

I think this whole PS3 thing, while not a big deal in and of itself, illustrates something that people are going to be seeing more and more of in the near future. With everything being so connected today, and with the rise of digit distribution, people are starting to realize some things about their rights as consumers that were more obscure before. Namely, that when you buy something in a store, whether it's a cd, dvd, game, whatever, all you actually own is the disc, not the content on it.

Case in point, the recent patch for Portal that changes the ending. While again, this isn't a huge deal, the implications are kinda scary. I'm not looking forward to a future where I have to download a random patch that actually changes or removes something from a game I've already played and enjoyed, especially if it doesn't let me chose whether or not I want to play the 'new' version.

While this kind of behavior has always been legal by the producers of whatever media you're enjoying, it's never really been an issue because to make these kind of changes would have been too expensive in the past, so most companies didn't bother with it. Now, with everything being so connected, I get the feeling that this kind of thing is going to happen a lot more which really worries me.

I don't think that it's completely out of the question that we might see some legal cases in the future that might start to change this kind of thing. My money's on the big companies coming out on top.

    Just sayin'.

I saw this coming I mean activision is a big company and as we all know from movies and stuff big companies like that only care about money which just helps proove what adam said in his soapbox about creativity losing to big business because all they care about is money and they may have to loose the money they love so much in order to learn that creativity is what puts that money in there pockets the fact that schools in America are not helping students with creativity but with grades and tests because we are competing with other contries with which one of us has hire test scores.

That PS3 glitch passed right by me. Whatever 4pm PST is there, I must've turned on my PS3 after that, and even then I played Saints Row 2, a game that doesn't have trophies.

Are the Ceo's at Activision senile, Call of duty the franchise is great the way it is. Who would buy a new poorly made Call of Duty each year, look what happened to the Tony Hawk Franchise.
It feels like Activision is pulling a power play against Infinity Ward
