I guess, I'm consider an older gamer since the first video games I play was on the NES, even though I'm in my 20's. I think older gamers tend to for games that have depth, great gameplay and lastability. While younger gamers tend to look for games that has great graphics, games that does not stop you from shooting anyone for more than 5 minutes and whether it has multiplayer.

Remember the time in the 90's and the year 2000 when you got amazing games like System Shock 2, Deux Ex, first two Thief games, adventures games that Tim Schafer made (i.e. first two Monkey Island and Grim Fandango) and RPGs games like first two Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment? Ah, those were the time. Those games are surely worth your money. While games nowdays (especially the high selling games like Halo and CoD series) have 4-5 hours of single player gameplay and tact on multiplayer are enough to deem it worthy to charge $60. I feel games today are being (can't think a nicer word for it, so sorry if anyone find it offensive) dumbed down for console gamers. For example, Bioshock. Now I love the game as much as the next guy but compared to System Shock 2, Bioshock is a toned down version of SS2 with much prettier graphics. Bioshock have simple RPG elements than SS2 i.e. can use every weapons, plasmids, weapons and hack everything, life-restoration chambers are plentiful and have no penalty for using it and hacking is much simpler. I notice that Mass Effect 2 is also going the same route, removing some of the RPG elements and you get less exploration from the first game, so it lean towards to be more a shooter game. Sorry for the rant, just putting my 2 cents.

This is always lumped up with services similar to Netflix. In my opinion, the first reaction is it is just like a movies so streaming makes sense. The difference is the performance demands of a movie or music is far less than of a game. What s more is the leading edge of gaming has never been idle, it always pushes forward. So even if they could reach a current benchmark that is has a high enough success rate, will that always be the case? Or even, will that somehow stunt the growth because now there would be a bar that developers wouldn t want to pass without sacrificing streaming capabilities. Outside the jump to HD, movies have basically stood idle. For simpler games this may work well and have a decent home here. For people who play seriously however, I just never see this becoming 100%. Perhaps a hybrid where you can stream some games and have a decent enough hard drive for others would be more consumer friendly. Of course then, what would happen to the consol wars, would PSX and Microsoft really give up their markets? The consoles are no longer as simple as the old NES where all it did was play games. They make a lot of money that is not game related, or just partially related. I see this more of a movement for those people that joined the gaming world through the wii or Guitar Hero and are looking for something more to branch out. For the person who owns all the consoles and plays daily, I just do not see this happening. Just because it is digital doesn't make it better. I feel it is the same road as when Adam commented on the 3D TV s, that we do not always have to push everything to a new level. At any rate, that is just how I see it.

Sessler, no offense, but I'm pretty sure that those of us that watch to the end of Feedback are well aware of what Sessler's Soapbox is...just sayin'

    Great Show.

But Patrick is so annoying. Always thinking he opinion is right, and presenting as the truth. Also always trying to project himself as the reason of G4.
Cant stand the guy. Wish the show would kick him out.
    Otherwise, love the talks.
Heavy Rain is the first game my mom got interested into. Before that she always thought it was for little kids and stupid stuff with monsters.

    Ditto to the praise above.

I rarely make comments online but have to say thanks so much for a show like feedback. While I ve watched Xplay for years [since the techtv and San Francisco days I even saw Adam on a Southwest flight to LA], I love how this show has real depth in its discussions, even when it comes to games I may not really be that interested in. TV-based shows have such limitations put on them, I m so glad Adam et al have a chance to get into real topics at length, without commercial interruption or flashy animated transitions. It s also nice getting a variety of Xplay staff in on the discussions, it really adds to a show that s already great.

I look forward to watching the show each week, and while there are plenty of sites to get info online, I ll keep coming back here for Feedback and all the value-added goodness you guys put on the site.

    Thanks Adam & G4.

Another awesome episode! It's always joy to watch Feedback episodes at work. =X I particularly enjoy how you guys dissect the gaming industry down to it's foundations. It's interesting to learn what goes on with various development studios and publishers. I find it very motivating as an aspiring designer, to see people appreciating aspects of gaming that isn't widely noticed by the community. Keep rocking on!

Very good episode again guys. I agree with Adam's comment - Heavy Rain is a very fascinating game. Good of you guys to bring in Leffler. Oh yeah! When are we going to see Morgan Web? I think it's about time we saw her often on Feedback. Her views are usually interesting too.

Who's hair would win in a fight.... Sterling's or Patrick's ? If they fought (hair only) they would have to play the fight music from the old Star Trek series.... just curious... I don't have much hair , and what I do have is straight... so, so jealous....

just beat the game and all i can say is that it was amazing. I did mangage to save every one. im going to play though again i think and see how this game can change. All i can say is that it is amazing and that every one should try it. you may not be your game type but if you give it at least one play though it will give you more than you expected.

I've been watching Feedback for awhile now, and it has grown to be one of the highlights of my week!

I just registered as a g4 user, today. I just had to get my voice in something like this.

I have to say, games being spoken of in this light and depth is something special.

    cant wait till next week!
