Slash Fiction WTF
Fan writing goes a step further with slash fiction genre, where followers create intimate, sexual relationships between their favorite Sci-Fi and adventure characters. Captain Kirk and Spock love, anyone? Anyone besides us, we mean.

I really don't get how you are surprised by this...Especially Kirk/Spock. It's pretty damn mainstream, as a good chunk of Star Trek reboot fans see the slashy side of things. (Most of my friends, most of whom are nerdy, heterosexual, and male, agree with me on this.)
Also, very few writers have a problem with fanfic, as long as the author does not claim the characters as his or her own.Posted: April 22, 2010 11:04 PM | Reply | Report -

Wow, G4, you guys really don't get it! Talk about a skewed etic perspective on the culture.
FYI, fic writers aren't all that concerned with copyright issues at this point and it certainly doesn't stop many from posting, if any at all.
Also: Hell yes, Kirk/Spock. Or more often technically "Spock/Kirk" because Spock is totally the top in that relationship. ;D

If you do a google image search for any nerdy icon, this stuff gets mixed in with the results sometimes, but I had no idea that it was its own genre... Thats just weird.
