quicktime events are now groundbreaking? wow what world did i wake up in.Serioulys though the killer never changes so there is no need to play through it again, unless you just have to see old girl strip at gun point again.

I just beat heavy rain today and i agree with Adam how much stress the game put you through in a good way, thinking what if i go left will i run into a dead end and be killed or what happens if i say nothing.The game got you thinking about what would happen later on to that character and not just. "Oh if i let her die it will be bad or if i save her it will be good" its just not so black and white, witch I'm guessing what Adam is saying about how the game is groundbreaking. and props for having duke nukem in the background bummer we wont see another of one in that series

played the demo and was suprised at the gameplay and a bit frustrated that it took three tries just to squeeze inbetween a wall and dumpster lol. but i digress. the game is simply stunning and i agree with Sessler, i havent seen innovation and just been simply mind boggled and in awe about a game since Shadow of the Colossus. im not so sure if this is the future of gaming but is is a giant leap. i enjoy the stories of video games more than anything and i cant stand it when a game based film strays from outstanding stories(Max Payne,Tombraider) to wrap it up, 2010 is already shapping up to be a graet year in gaming especialy for playstation. i cant wait to get my hands on Heavy Rain,ive already pre-ordered GOW3.and im literaly addicted to MAG. cheers

I take back what I said earlier I just got the game but already I'm seeing way too many glitches. A 4/5 is a very good score. The collision detection between your interaction with somethings is just awful. Early in the game I had to restart the game at the play ground with my youngest son. I invited him to swing then in he ran straight through me, the swing, the bushes, the fence, and another car passing by. Granted this is happening every step of the way and the times when you really get into the game FAR outwiegh those glitches. That said a 4/5 is a score I completely agree with and yes it is still a must buy in my book.

i dont understand why people are bashing this game when its barely been out and they probably havent even played it. the reason why there was so much hype around this game was because its not only good, but that this is a ground breaking game. we have really never seen a game like this that is this good. heavy rain is showing the creativity that can be put behind a video game. its pushing the boundaries of how people think video games are supposed to be played and adding on to the reason why video games are the number one form of entertainment in america.

Heavy Rain is mechanically Indigo Prophecy with better graphics. They're movies you've to press more buttons than normal to watch. Do you think Final Fantasy is more inventive than Alpha Protocol too?

I loaded Sessler's video waiting to hear his explanation of how Heavy Rain's a game, worthy of praise, or ground-breaking. Instead he talked about how he was emotionally invested in the characters. I start feeling for fictional characters in movies too. But blunting gameplay into cruder forms for the sake of narration is not a superior means of videogame production. It's a degradation of the medium.

Adam's suffering from the boredom of critics and those that consider art which leads to any novelty or aberration seeming refreshing. Heavy Rain's < mediocre.

I was born in January of 1978.Yet it seems to me that people my age and older have forgoten about Dragon's Lair.In that game you have cues that must be immediately followed after they flash on screen.Swing the the joystick right when the arrow flashes.Press the sword button when the sword glows.Nearly 30 years later Heavy Rain comes out.It's gameplay is identical to Dragon's Lair.Play the 1981 arcade classic and see for yourself.You must see it in order to belive it.Hopefully someone at G4 knows of Dragon's Lair and wisely compares Heavy Rain to it.Good day for now.

Great soapbox. I loved the demo and I think I will get the game when it drops in price you know in 3 weeks I will have to play both FF13 and GOW3 to play.

I love it when some of the editors and reviewers on this site are in obvious disagreement when it comes to certain games. It was apparent that on feedback a couple of them disagreed with the aspects of assassins creed 2 review.

Doesn't matter for me though, since I am not ignorant and I look at reviews for games with the knowledge of the persons previous reviews and whether I am more likely to agree with them or not.

That's why I find it funny when people who disagree with the reviews curse the foundations when I am sure many of the people within g4/xplay might disagree as well.

I love how Adam hesitates oh so slightly in the beginning when he talks about the guys review. He backs up the score but you can tell he likes it more than a 4/5.

Seems like a game i may buy,if i had a Ps3, Alas im stuck with my Wii...Off topic question if I may. I assume it is because it was nothing more then a re-launch for the Wii, but are you surprised there were no COD MW Reflex commercials, and whats yor oppinion of the games performance?

ill never get my ps3 fixed for reasons i believe sony rigged wtf is an over heating problem y would they put the system togeather like that if they knew that was a risk hmm then tell you to pay 191 bucks to fix or give u some other model i think its for selling they system for cheap at least the xbox had the class to reward you with some kinda compensation for they crap system but ooh well i have to get into wii sports and all the other games on the wii since they make outstanding prouducts all my nes sysems work back to the ole 1989 virsion so ill always buy nintendo because 2 strikes for sony ps2 and 3 don't work what a jip nintendow was right not to go into business with them faulty a$$ products
ooh my bad cought a frustrated moment but i think heavey rain will be a gud game cause i love games with gud graphics so i hope i get to play it on someone elses playststation or sweet talk my girl into getting it fixed =p

While all of the footage of Heavy Rain has blown me away and I do agree that it is revolutionary. I do not have a PS3 nor will I own one in the near future. I am proud that gaming has entered a new era, where all of the innovators and writers have gone to. Heavy Rain is more then enough proof that gaming is a mature and respectable media and art form.
