Hurray!! I love love love Feedback. It makes my week worth living. Also I'm really excited for DICE. I just want to stay in tune with everything that goes on in this industry and things like Feedback and the Soapbox and pretty much this entire website really add perspective to those who crave any news game related. Keep up the great work G4!

On the subject of developers forcing their values or morals in a video game go back and play Fable II. Notice when you have your character eat any type of meat your purity rating goes down, and when you eat any vegetable it goes up. Although this is a very subtle nuance it still feels to me like the game is throwing its own opinion of something that is completely unrelated to the game itself on me, and if I so happen to disagree my character has to suffer for it.

So did the editors accidentally let Abbie's "____ together" comment slip? Or are they not censoring everything anymore. Because that would be awesome.

    Except they censor the comments...
    Very heavily.

with all these great games coming out i want to give them all a fair amount of time but does it make me a fanboy that i really pay attention to anything related to cretin companies like Bioware, Infinity Ward, Bethesda and Ubisoft?

ME2 just added some new free candy too the cerberus store. Bringing up the thought. What do you guys think the mass effect 2 dlc mission packs will contain? Do you think it will be underwhelming like the first title or do you think they got better at managing dlc and will beef it up in a way that beckons people to purchase it.

Another very enjoyable episode of Feedback. I for one am looking forward to the teams thoughts on Heavy Rain, in a few weeks when everyone gets to it.

I also think that the morality system is quite flawed, and needs a sense of realism for it. Perhaps instead of just a good and evil bar, it would be nice to see actual game consequences for the way you are acting. I mean more than the way people react to you as well. Thinks that could be even harsher, and change your entire game experience.

Great show guys. I look forward to playing Bioshock 1. It sounds like a great series. I just have no extra time. Too many good games such little time.
    On a side note.
What is up with your camera OPS? It seems like they need a little help on where the cameras should be. All this handheld style is hurting my eyes. I know the room is a little goofy and theres always 4 people to shoot but it's not that hard. All you need to do is put A-CAM on a set of sticks and keep it on Sess the entire show! He's running the darn show so he gets his own cam. A-CAM can move from a medium to a close-up, put only on Sess. No wide shot A-CAM because then we'll see B-CAM. A-CAM always stays on Sess! The camera thats always in Sessler's FN shot, just needs to move down the wall 2 or 3 feet just so he's out of A-CAMERA'S shot. STAY OUT OF THE SHOT B-CAM! So now B-CAM can just float around that wall picking off shots of the other 3 talking heads. I mean for F sake LIGHT BLOCK SHOOT! It's so darn unprofessional to see another Camera Op in the FN shot. I'm watching the video and it's like who the F is this guy and why is he in the shot. Oh he's a camera guy. Yes I understand it's LIVE to tape but really this isn't that hard. How about the next time you guys have lunch. Why don't you figure out where your supposed to be. If this show was an audio podcast it wouldn't matter. But if your going to bring the cameras in the room at least have a game plan and shoot this show right. And get rid of the stupid stick that makes your camera go 10 feet in the air. It's a horrible shot, no one cares if your trying to be artsy. We all watch for the content not the cool angles. And if your having such a hard time getting everyone in the shot. Rearrange the FN room. How about you put the guest between Abbie and Patrick. I'll say it again. Were not shooting a FN art movie hear. Just shoot it straight up and stay out of each others way. If you listen to me maybe one day you'll move on from G4 and someone else might hire you. Or maybe you don't give a crap because you've never operated a camera before. You could be interns for all I know. Just stay out of the darn shot and get rid of the big stick thingy and find a tripod and just shoot the show okay.
THE FEEDBACK is a good show. I love the extra content.

i just recently bought mass effect the original to play though before getting ME2 as suggested last week and i'm finding the choices good or bad to be persuaded not the way i want to go... i find myself picking the "bad" choices only because of achievements, and i know that the bad ones are always at the bottom so i never really look at anything i just auto pick it and it is really ruining the game experience for me.

Yahtzee on Zero Punctuation had a good point a while back that Morality Systems A) don't make sense because in reality, good people think they're good people, but bad people also think they're good people. It's all very subjective. And B) a truly evil person would trick everyone into thinking they were good and benevolent and then when they are placed in a position of power, make a truly evil and damning decision. The reverse also being true, a facade of evil may be the only way to infiltrate a criminal organization, but it doesn't mean the person is an evil person. I understand that game developers may not be able to make such a nuanced system, but I feel that the interrupts in ME2 was a good start. The way you react in those situations really pointed towards the real nature of your character.

I believe tabletop RPGs actually had something for this, where in designing your character you get extra points if you take on traits like "honest" or "blood lust" and you get bonuses when you behave as you should and de-buffs when you behaved contrary to your character traits.

I wouldn't suggest that system necessarily, because then playing contrary to your nature would be totally unappealing. However, perhaps creating a character who is disinclined to being nice/violent/thorough but doing being that anyhow would unlock special scenes or dialog options... it's an extreme undertaking but I could see potential for a system wherein trait taken on at or near the start of a game like "pacifist" (which might offer a defensive bonus and/or make offensive actions less likely but negatively effect your combat efficiency) could evolve into "true pacifist" (higher bonuses, no debuff) or "reluctant killer" (no increase in defensive bonus, but an actual increase combat stats) based on how you played that character, avoiding confrontations or engaging in them.

For the time being, I think that people are not going to be up in arms that Morality systems don't reflect the way things are in the real world. But as games continue down this path of being extremely customizable narrative experiences, a simple black or white (or grey) system is going to really be a hindrance to the game developers' ability to let you tell a compelling and emotionally valid story in their world.

In the mean time, if a game comes out that allows me to rise to the top of a society by doing acts they deem appropriate for advancement (kissing babies or killing snitches) then bring them to their knees in one fell swoop, and rewards me the proper good/paragon/Han Solo or evil/renegade/Palpatine points... I'll buy that game!

I am CFenix, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled tot he game he desires most? No says the man who owns a PS3, you should get MAG. No says the man who owns an Xbox 360, you should get Mass Effect 2. No says the PC gamer, you should get Warcraft. I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose. Rapture.
