    I find myself agreeing with you more and more with your reviews as of lately. I usually don t buy games that get less than a 5 star rating from X-Play and the Official Playstation Mag. So thanks for your expertise. Please make Soapbox longer with guest game developers to answer some of the most popular questions and remarks.
    I am super excited about Fallout New Vegas. I feel Bethesda needed more cause and effect in the game play like your influence actually changes the world around you. By this I mean like having to find breaker boxes to bring power backup before lights come on, showing the spread of Oasis, having to charge, fix, or upgrade the pip boy, and even waste landers helping you in the wastes would be a great addition, as well as making status effects like outside extreme temps, lack of sleep, and use of a gas mask or oxygen tank more important to your survival. As well as more enemies like snakes
    As to many game developers push for both single player and online game play, they are ruining our experience with their product. In example WKC from Level 5, seriously is this the end for great single player RPGs? I hope not for I do not play well with others at times. I pray for some solid RPGs to come to the PS3. They did it so well on the PS2
    and I have waited so long.
    COD:MW2 the only problem I have came across is when we are trying to join my clan. IW should improve on this by automatically grouping you with your friends who have the same clan tags without having to always ask to join. My other clan members find this just as frustrating and are leaning towards MAG. This could possibly be fixed by SONY.
    As a PS3 fan you guys just made my heart jump at the possibility of EA bringing ME2 to my favorite console. My only complaint with Bioware is the constant need for DLC. Don't get me wrong DLC is great when it delivers more for the player but the key word is more. I really enjoy constant playing games but not constantly paying for games. I agree your guys views with the morality issue and impulsive choices. Thank you all for you collective thoughts. I have enjoyed Sessler s soapbox so much that I decided to check out Feedback and I am so glad I did.

    About Mass Effect, I also felt like some of the choices didn't match my paragon character, nor my renegade one.

    And Mass Effect is NOT really about good versus evil character progression. Most gamers think that it's about good versus evil because they've been playing games like Kotor, Fallout, and Fable. In Mass Effect, you're a specter, a warrior, a captain (not technically), a commander, someone who is on a mission to save the galaxy against forces that are so great they defy understanding and believability. It's more about not becoming a monster while fighting and trying to defeat one, than being evil for the sake of it.

    You have to look at dialog choices as extreme choices about a merciful or an unforgiving leader who's trying to set an example and wants to punish people instead of giving them a break. You may also look at it as one wants to get the job done no matter what, or someone who doesn't mind taking a turn, hoping for the best but expecting the worst. You may also be someone who accepts that the system isn't perfect so allow a few NPCs to be corrupt or get buy.

    I never really felt like I was put into a position that I was required to make an evil choice or a good choice for the sake of being good versus evil. (Unlike Fallout 3 where you can destroy a whole town just for money, they never did you any wrong, and you'd be killing children as well.)

    You can either play Mass Effect and make your choices individually, or play it as a straight paragon or straight renegade. I personally think that no-one is 100% conservative, nor 100% liberal. Mass Effect allows you to choose every time, so the paragon/renegade bars are just to show the consistency of your decisions.

    I have two characters, one is paragon, the other is renegade, but they both have a bit of the other. I like it better that way. Sometimes I like my paragon to be a bit strict especially against unrelenting evil, and my renegade to show some compassion and/or sympathy, for instance, towards hurting people, and the love interest.

    A number of people on the message boards have shown much anger towards g4 for not giving perfect scores (e.g. Bioshock2, Dante's Inferno) on recently released titles. Instead of being upset over game reviews, why aren't gamers elated that multiple great titles are coming out in Jan/Feb?

    bioshock 2 was pretty good but i still think the story and the world of rapture would have been better if they went with a prequel set before and during the civil war instead of a sequel. seariously how could you follow up on a ending from a game like bioshock and it still be as great or close to being as great as the original. anyways bioshock 2 is still great.

    How far is too far in a game. I'm studying to be a developer and I've been pondering about that. I just played through Episodes From Liberty City and on the Lost And Damned there is a scene where there is a fully nude guy. I can see how people would react badly to that but it didnt feel wrong given the situation and context. On the other hand there is the dumbest game ever made, Rapelay {I'm pretty sure you could guess what that one is about} . Im just wondering how far you can go with a video game before its too far.

    Bring up Mass Effect again, there is much more to say.

    Will the upcoming DLC for this year and the next include more dialogue and experiences that relate to your "end game" choices, for the players who continued their game after the end credits?

    And why is Legion NOT stoned to death when walking around on the Citadel? Much needed expansions for this game, but minor issues after all.

    First off, just wanted to let you know how much I've been enjoying the show. It's the first web series I've ever become addicted to, and in general it's the only really intelligent and BS free discussion of video games I can think of, anywhere.

    On the whole morality thing....funny story. Back in the day when Grand Theft Auto 3 came out, I went over to a friend's house to check this thing out, not fully convinced it was worth a purchase. So I sat there and watched him play, and by play I mean running around hitting people with cars and generally causing an obscene amount of mayhem.

    In general we had pretty much the same reaction.....uncontrollable fits of guilty laughter. We couldn't believe that the developers were actually letting you do all this crazy stuff. At the time it was mind blowing.

    So I go and buy the game, and play it pretty much the same way, and then this strange thing starts to happen. I don't know, maybe it was because I was playing it alone now, but I started to feel kinda bad about causing all this carnage. I asked my friend about this the next time I saw him, and he said he was having the same reaction too. He said the game let him do things that made his soul hurt. I went back and finished the game, but by the end I was playing it so straight that I was going so far as to stop at red lights. RED LIGHTS!

    While I appreciate games with specific moral choices like Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Fallout, I also really appreciate games that let you actually play them in different ways, depending on you're own morality. For instance, the Metal Gear series has always allowed you to play the games without actually killing anybody. Sure, it's harder and there's no real game play incentive for it, but I like that the choice is there. This kind of stuff is much more subtle, but in a way allows the game player a truer moral freedom than a cutscene where they have to choose between some binary outcome. This kind of stuff has it's strengths, like in the first two Fallouts, where a lot of the choices you were forced to make were ones of the lesser of two evils. This kind of stuff reinforced just how messed up the world you were playing in really was, because no matter what you did something bad was going to happen to someone. I'd like to see more of that kind of thing in games, more gray area.

    Why do they say that Mass Effect 2 is around 57 hours long? It only took me a little over 34 hours to get through it, and that was with me doing practically every side quest I could find. I did every loyalty mission, every hub world side mission (that I found), and around 10 anomaly planets. What did I miss?

    At the risk of sounding like a total geek and fallout junkie I have to say no super mutants don't have testicles they're completely asexual if you read the computers in vault 87 it tells you that. but the ability to shoot at the crotch like in the first two games would be funny.

    Super Mutants would have genitals because they are mutated humans and humans have genitals. They would likely be explained as sterile as a result of the process of mutation if it ever came up as to preserve the lore that they abduct people and mutate them in order to maintain their numbers. Mules are sterile and still have genitals. Hermaphrodites are most often sterile and can have two sets of genitals. Okay, I now have the lamest post in x-play history. Epic fail for me, carry the geek flag until you must set it down to take a deep breath of atomized steroids. Yay.

    Talking about the Mass Effect 2 Good vs Evil, I've come to the conclusion that the Paragon and Renegade doesn't necessarily mean good and evil. I still think it's a morality issue, but it's more on the actions or attitude you take toward your commanding officer. For example, if you play the good soldier and don't question everything you are told, you land Paragon points. If you disobey an order, you do Renegade. Then when it comes to people interactions, if your actions are done toward the benefit of the person you are interacting with, so on and so forth. I think this can relate to the touchier subjects like the morality of abortion. Like to say, if your faction/group members/commanding officers believes this and you agree with him when confronted, it can be seen as a good action because you go with the general consensus. But if you act against it, you can be seen as a renegade for not sharing the same beliefs, thus leading to possible mistrust from your officers or teammates. Depending on how developers approach this subject, I think the general public can accept certain ways these kinds of moral choices are presented. Like you guys said, it's an extremely gray area but people can produce surprising ideas from these areas.

    I just want one thing from Fallout New Vegas that will make me sold on the game, and that is good 3 person combat. I don't demand that they put in cover and anything like that, but I would like to be able to swtich to 3rd person view and be able to shoot something.

    I've been watching X-play (before, extended play) since 2002, and I have to say, It's what got me into games. I finally checked out your website after getting sick of the lack of updates from my old go-to video games site, I am astonished the amount of crap you guys do for us--a 45 minute show every week? Sessler's Soap box? New X-play episodes almost daily? I just watched the last months worth of podcasts and awesome inside looks about how people who deal with the industry daily feel about games.

    I must say I'm a amazed at the content and I'm also amazed that everyone involved seems to be a gamer--and not just a meh gamer-but hardcore gaming folk. People who talk about games theoretically. People who appreciate a good game. Especially Adam, who I always figured wasn't THAT much of a gamer (most editor and chiefs aren't after a few years on the review panel) I'm amazed how up to date he is.

    So I made an account to post this for the sole purpose of saying: Keep this crap up and I'll will for SURE be here every week. This website is now bookmarked, I appreciate the hard work.

    very good show guys... i really love watching u guys talk and it's becoming something i'm looking forward to every week, wednesdays are all about nip/tuck and feedback for me and with nip/tuck only having 3 episodes left it looks like this show will be the only thing i will have to be happy about in the middle of the week in a month or so... so thanks guys lol
