I actually would have liked to see a more thoughtful treatment of the subject. This vid was entertaining, as always, but there's some decent thematic writing in video games even if the dialogue is more often than not ham fisted. There have even been a couple that made me cry. The relationship with your horse in Shadow of the Colossus really is one of the most touching game relationships that I have ever been privy to. At the part when you go to the last mission I had four of my friends over watching and (SPOILER ALERT)
when you cross the bridge and the thing sacrifices itself to save you all five of us leaned in various ways, awkwardly contorting, and gasping. We were totally shocked and many of us admitted to being emotionally kicked in the d*ck soup by the whole thing. I f you're wondering if we're all just a bunch of softies then consider this: one of the five of us was a third degree (at the time, now fourth) black belt in krate and an international breaking champion, this guy can kill you with your own joystick thumb.
