F___!!! i went out and bought this game, played 30minutes then madly realized it was just like GoW and not very interesting so i put it down, went to my computer only to see this video. if only i had done all this in a different order i would not have wasted my monies~

comments that only reiterate what Adam already said is a waste of time!

"I don't believe comment sections belong on websites"

I, like most people like the comment sections as it gives me a real or maybe imagined sense of community and connection with other gammers. Without this dedicated community, I think you would see a fast decline in website "hits" and in turn, revenue from advertisers. I like supporting good content by visiting and commenting in a way that gets others to do the same but I think removing this because of silly comments would only lead to a loss in readers and viewers.

I assume you know all this, because you have the comment section but it feels like your lashing out at the whole community when your upset by a few.

A dedicated viewer, reader and commenter.

it worked for me just fine but the whole idea of cloning is kinda odd since games like Shadow Complex get high scores despite the obvious influences yet games like Dante or Darksiders get low scores because of its obvious influences but all 3 games are fun, yet some get lower marks than others so it's better to just read as many negative and positive reviews and get a good overall opinion rather than "oop, site X gave it a 72 or something for being a God of War clone, that's one game I'm not playing"

On the subject of cloning games, I guess I'm a bit more of a stickler about originality than some. Don't get me wrong, a game that takes influence from previous titles isn't going to send me into a rage or anything, but I need to see a great deal of expansion on a concept in order to view something as anything more than a cash-in.

An example for me was the original Saint's Row, which I picked up in an attempt to stave off the DTs while I waited for GTA4. It had the driving, it had the shooting and it had the gratuitous everything, but for some reason it just felt empty. It didn't have the depth of story that GTA: San Andreas had, nor the wide range of missions, nor the size. I decided to break out my PS2 and play more San Andreas instead of playing SR.

Then Saints Row 2 came out, and instead of feeling like a cheap cash in it felt like a much more detailed game; a wider range of side missions, more story missions, a very entertaining story with some solid plot twists. It had moved away from its source material and become its own beast, something I really appreciated.

As for Dante's Inferno, well, I played the demo and it strikes me as an entertaining button masher. I wasn't surprised by the 3/5 as I felt no need to buy the game when it game out. A rental should do me fine.

The game that brought up this problem last year was Batman: Arkham Asylum.

I dont get everyones anger over comparisons. What would a review be without something to compare it to?

Okay the video isn't playing...But since we're on the subject, I wanted to ask about the gamers who have never played the God of War series or thought the GOW games weren't all the impressive to begin with(Like Myself). What exactly do we have to go with in regards to this game when the underline theme still seems to be Dante's Inferno VS. God of War!?!? I watched the video where Patrick did a really great job explaining the resn behind his review score, which isn't my issues at all. I just wanted to know why are we just assuming that everyone who play video games have played God of War, or even cared to play God of War??
