It's another Super Bowl deal from Target with this Panasonic 42" 720p HD plasma that features a 600 Hz sub-field drive, stereo speakers and multiple inputs for a special deal of $599. Chris Hardwick and Olivia Munn tell you if this will be the Super Bowl deal of the....Super Bowl?

What You Need To Know

  • This Panasonic isn't necessarily the sleekest television we've seen.
  • It measures about 4" thick with most of the inputs on the back, so you may not be able to wall mount it.
  • There are 2 HDMI's and 2 component inputs.
  • Unfortunately, all the HD inputs are on the back, and only one analog on the side.
  • Panasonic also didn't include many features, however, the ones it does have work well.
  • The 600 Hertz subfield drive helps sharpen the image quality and make fast looking images look terrific.
  • This feature is different than the 120 hertz smooth motion on LCDs.
  • The SD card is pretty self explanatory: just pop it in and view photos on your TV.
  • Overall, we were disappointed with the lack of features.
  • The image quality looks great!
  • It has a dynamic contrast ratio of 2 million to one, which means blacks look incredibly deep.
  • Colors are accurate and vibrant.
  • There might a little more noise than we'd like to see but overall, this TV looks amazing.

Price

  • $600 as a Super Bowl deal on Target.

Rating

  • 4 Seals of Approval out of 5. (How do we rate gadgets?)
  • Even though the design and features leave something to be desired, the picture quality is second to none, especially on sale.

I'd rather spend more for better quality. For what you get for this price it's a good deal but i'd rather have better even if it costs more.
