I think game length depends alot on the type of game I'm playing. For something like Fallout 3, an open world, exploration driven game with a story that serves as little more than a McGuffing to put you in that world, I'll play for 100+ hours easy.

For a story driven RPG like Mass Effect 1 and 2, the thirty (ME1) and fifty (ME2)hours I got was just right and conducive for another playthrough, because I'm not tired of it yet. Contrast that with Dragon Age: I remember nearing hour eighty on Dragon Age and starting to wonder when it would end. I doubt I'll play through it again for a year or so.

For Modern Warfare 2, five hours was just right. Besides, multiplayer is where most of that game's replay value comes from, anyway.

I think that in this generation, more so than before, developers are better focused on PACING, which I feel is more important than length. Sometimes a three page story is just a three page story, you know?

Hell, just for a sense of context, I'll point to another of Bioware's critical darlings, Knights of the Old Republic. I started and stopped that game two or three times because Taris was an over long, plodding mess of an introductory world. I eventually got past it and I'm glad I did, but playing it now (as well as other, older RPG's) just highlights that lack of pacing.

I'm still somewhat new to watching these Feedback episodes, just started watching them maybe 3 months ago (been watching Xplay and coming to this site for a lot longer though), and I did go back and watch some older Feedbacks a few times. I just have 1 thing to say, well, it's a question actually, how come we don't see Morgan Webb on Feedback at all? Well, I saw her on there once, back in November or something maybe, don't remember. Is there a certain reason, or does she just not like doing it? I'm just curious.

Patrick kicks ass, he seems very informative, is good at explaining things, and knows what he's talking about.

Does anyone else think Abbie has a "faint" facial resemblance to Amanda Tapping (Carter from Stargate SG-1)?

I don't think they faked the saved data. I never went full paragon or renegade when I played the game, I shot people I when I felt like it and I was nice to the characters I liked, so I believe my experience was unique and literally "one of a kind". So if it is fake, then I am impressed.
One thing I did like about playing the first one before I played ME2 are the refrences from the first game. The choices in the side missions fleshed out and I even enjoy the references to characters you never actually talked to. I still laugh when I hear the same guy is still trying to get a refund. You would also get e-mails from characters about the choices you made in the first game. I had the colonist background and I got a e-mail from the girl I saved. Just little things like that made this game great for me and really drew me into the story, making it fell like my choices have consequences and it felt like I had a great deal of control over the actual story of the game.

How could they do this? Technical problems before I heard their opinions on the Mining in ME2...I'm gonna cry now.

I figure that the RTS genre would find a nice home on the iPad...

If Dane Cook is considered "funny", then I think the whole 2012 thing is going to happen.

yeah I had the same problem with the video but I just read a post saying a fixed version will be posted sometime tomorrow. I really have enjoyed the feedback series and I hope that they keep it going for a long time. I also agree with PkrPlr4LIFE I think it would be great to have Patrick come on x-play or something once a week or so and just give some more gaming news thats going on that he does not discuss on feedback.

    @Abbie Heppe.

Hangover was nominated (and won) the Best Picture [Musical or Comedy] at the Golden Globes.

It's also up for best Original Screenplay from the WGA Awards.

Off topic, but this episode really made me wish this was a live show. There were so many points I wanted to pick apart, something that would only be possible with a chat room and a live show.

Back on topic, I wanted to point out that I did play as a soldier in the first Mass Effect and loved it, but a key point is I had Liara as a squadmate throughout the game. By giving the player full control over all the characters as an option, it really opened the possibilities, and it's not something I see in many other games.

Much like they described in the video, where maxing out pull would just have guys floating followed by a shooting gallery, I did the exact same thing in Mass Effect with singularity.

Lastly, I played as a Vanguard in ME2 and didn't find it all that fun, but then I switched to Sentinel on my second playthrough. It was way more enjoyable, and I felt like a total badass, similar to a soldier in the first game.

heres the deal. avatar didnt have a great original story. but you know what shakespeares romeo and juliet wasn't original when that came out. there were many other plays and poems that had that theme. its what the director/playwright does with the story or what his vision is that is important. people now days are so sensitive when it comes to who came up with what first, and disregard EVERYTHING ELSE. /// that being said i feel "the hurt locker" is so far beyond the other nominees, and really hoping it wins.

The Hangover was not nominated for best picture oscar. It was nominated at the golden globes for best picture and won.
