Actually I was expecting more out of Hardwick's review. He is becoming more entertainment than informative just like the ATOS.

My initial response wasn't nearly as welcoming as Hardwick's was...yet, the more I think about the possibilities of the iPad the more I'm intrigued by the device. Yes this iPad, like the original iPhone, is snazzy. But we'd be crazy not to admit the 3GS doesn't make the original look, well, less snazzy.

It's kinda like that Nobel Peace Prize Obama got. It wasn't so much as for what he did, but what they believe he will do. Now, I'm pretty hype about the iPad...but most of my hype is honestly reserved for whatever future the 3rd, 4th, and 5th iterations iPad may hold.

Everyone here is suddenly an expert at what this device is supposed to be. I bet if you were on the dev team you'd probably understand that they had to make certain concessions in order to make the device what it is.

I think once people actually get this in their hands they're going to think very differently about this product. I for one think it's going to be a great product. Yes, I think they need to figure out the Flash thing but otherwise this is going to be awesome.

Look for iPad versions of websites too.

Why the frack does nobody care that there are much better tablet options?? Seriously buy an archos 9, which beats the ipad hardware (I'm actually just assuming that it has more ram. seeing as mac did not specify how much ram the the ipad has, because ,well, why should they? Its not like their userbase knows anything about computers.) not to mention the archos 9 real god damn computer and runs windows 7, a REAL operating system, instead of a PEICE OF CRAP, INCAPABLE, UI. Yeah apple is taking a step in the right direction, but why does nobody acknowledge that other companies like archos are sitting unnoticed at the finish line.

i hardly doubt there will be a boycott for apple to include everything but the kitchen sink in this self called iphone big.. and i highly doubt people are not going to buy it when its on sale. which is bad so apple can notice some omittance. apple is getting my money when the ipad is in its 4th or 5 generation.

OKay guys you say its a massive fail but give it awhile i think this thing might just be the future of something great. Imagin people walking down the streets with one of these and they walk into a wireless store where they can buy books and look at them from there on the go. Schools could buys these cheap and give them to students to replace old books and without destroying forests to make new ones. People who just want to go on the interent and sitdown without dealing with use a mouse and keyboard you use your friggen finger instead, i think you huys are seriosly underestimating this device, Imagin what people thought when those ebooks came out?

I have an ipod touch and I love it w/ exception for the lack of flashh support. I was hoping for an artists tablet with wacom like functionality. This thing is under-powered and has no storage. How can you call something the "best internet experience" when you cant run flash or even download files!? Way too expensive, I can get a very good laptop for 500 bucks.

Once they have flash I will be getting one. I've wanted one of these ever since I first saw STNG.

Arrrrrgh... I was expecting MORE out of Apple.

Especially with all the hype surrounding this device.

I mean, no flash can prolly be upgraded through firmware releases so that's not a big deal but Jobs saying "The BEST web experience EVER..." was way off base. LOL

I'll admit. I'm not an Apple fanboy but their UI is definitely the one to beat. Its gorgeous.

Just thought this was gonna be more of a TABLET and less of an eReader/iPhone.

I mean, with iWork packed in was this more aimed at the business sector or...? Why not just buy a Macbook Air with actual OSX and not iPhone OSX?

Just not really seeing THE POINT of this device. Although it is really pretty (if only they could get rid of that HUGE black frame around it).

Maybe they can make up for this "eh" with the next iPhone...
    I'm exicited =)

i have an iPhone and yes not having flash is a bummer, but you know what people are trying to watch, that uses flash, most of the time? porn. considering that 95% of the internet is porn, it kinda balances out

Whats the point of being able to surf the web if you can't have Flash. definitely a big part of the internet.

Its funny, I imagine staff members about to kick Chris out for licking the iPad, they should just be happy that Kevin wasn't there humping everything.

I have to say, I'm a little diappointed in the iPad...no flash? no camera? I liked the concept photos much better.
