I love this game and its' level of creativity; every ten minutes you're doing something haven't done in a video game before. Just don't take the story seriously and you will have a blast.

A topic of discussion is often digital distribution and its impending ascension. What will be done about problems with digital distribution such as the fact that this soapbox is currently unavailable in the US iTunes store. If a programming error occurs won't it be possible for millions to lose everything without any physical proof of ownership? Without a physical medium any problem could cost gamers even more money and could diminish games' effect. Don't we need something physical in case an error occurs?

I think I finally figured out the problem with people who dislike Bayonetta simply for the 'misogynistic tendencies' It's really quite simple, Bayonetta is the BIGGEST Tease in the video game universe. She's So bad ass she completely overshoots 'sex toy' and in a rare twist of just ultra fueled counter Machismo, yes she's overly feminine for every brick crap house of a protagonist gears of war or Halo ever spat out. I think thankfully, Bayonetta more reminds me of Samus than anyone from the Dead or Alive series, cool in control and not afraid to show off her appealing body. It's great, I mean great that people can not only look past the sex saturated cut scenes [and that one really weird torture attack with the Joy] and see the creative WONDERLAND of art, game, and story that lies beneath. Thank you Bayonetta for proving that just because a woman is sexy, doesn't mean she's a tramp or weak.

Ok heres a big question i have to you Seth that i need some insight on. Why do they deem it necessary in all of the recent RPG titles to integrate nudity and sex into some small part of the story. I know its just one small scene that usually can be avoided but it shuts out younger fans of RPG's due to its more explicit rating, and all of the RPG's I want to try out are unavailable to me. And i cant say it doesent go for other genres as well but for this genre of games it has recently bothered me the most. Is it really all that neccessary, I imagine the intent was to expand your feeling "as the character" by adding these sorts of elements to make it feel more "real". But cant they do better and not shut us out as I said?

Seth ive got a question thats bugging me that i need your insight on, why in every RPG are they integrating nudity that doesent really enhance the story or experience. I'm a huge fan of RPG's but am unable to get my hands on alot of the most popular RPG titles such as Mass Effect due to them integrating nudity, and me being too young to get my hands on it.

Also just wanted to say it's about time there was a strong female character who wasn't afraid of her sexuality and still came off as a badass.

And she wears glasses. (I wear glasses ^_^) Glasses FTW.

I am a female gamer and I love to play practically everything (GTA IV is my favorite game of all time besides Ocarina of Time) and I have to say I absolutely LOVE Bayonetta. Like Abbie, I never got offended by the sexual stuff and everything was gut-bustingly hilarious and refreshing. It's probably the first original game I've played in a long, long time.

I really dug what Adam said. It really did feel like someone's wild imagination come to life. It's also the first game in a long time for me where I felt compelled to replay it not only on a harder difficulty setting but also to find all the hidden collectibles.

More Bayonetta in the future. Please?

Bayonetta oh I want to see another DMC game after seeing you. Anyway, over the top is basically a necessity for a game of Bayonetta's stature, lets just hope that know one screws up the sequal like the whole DMC2 fiasco. Poor DMC2.(They almost destroyed my series)

this is officially on my list of games to get, I've still got to finish Arkham Asylum, Assassin's Creed, and R&CF; A Crack in Time, and by the time I've done all that, Bayonetta will probably have fallen below Bioshock 2 on the list, but this is definitely an eventually.

I think people are upset at this getting a 4/5 when games like...ohh, say a partial revamp of a game (ala - CoD:MW2) can get 5's. It just comes across as biased.

Personally, I've really enjoyed Bayonetta. Its my first Platinum trophy on the PS3. (2nd real game played on it...) Anyways...I don't really care about the review score or whatnot. I just wanted to voice my support of a game that is really a ton of fun. My first playthrough, taking my time to first get really aquainted with the controls/find hidden stuff...took me approx 8 hours. Subsequent playthoughs on harder difficulties each took less and less time (NSIC is just at 3 hrs). All in all, I've got 30 hours into it since picking it up, last weekend. And have enjoyed every minute of it.

If you like the hack and slash genre...play it. If your a sensitive wuss who's going to take things too serious over a game (the sexuality)...don't play it. Simple really.

The story may not do this game justice, but the gameplay, graphics are just over the top and I think that's what the creator was going for.The cut scenes are a bit ridiculous, but that doesn't make Bayonetta a non playable game. From the boss fights to the torture moves it will be one of the games of the year.

I have to admit that I was leery of this game; I played the demo and saw it as just another Devil May Cry clone, but I have to eat some crow as after reading the reviews I decided to give it a rent and try it in full. I gotta admit that I was very pleasantly suprised. Adam pretty much states everything I was thinking, so I won't reiterate them. But yeah! Very surprised!

I love Bayonetta... the demo is what sold me on the this game. The action is over the top... I LOVE IT! I get excited playing this games like when I first played Contra... or even Contra Hard Corps on Sega Genesis. I know the feminist will find issue with Bayonetta but she is a witch that is in control... they should be celebrating that. As for the X-Play score of 4/5... it could have been 2/5 and I would have still bought it. Lets reward the developers of this awesome game with high sales numbers. Remind the industry that crazy cool fun is still in demand. Next on the list of action games I am excited to play... Donte's Inferno... check out the demo on XBox Live.

yea capcom lost this one because they wanna restrict all types of games and follow what the stupid cridics has to say just like the game pn03 and dmc 1 so i guess when u tell a developer what tha can and cannot do u end up with most dmc games no characters what so ever thats one thing i hated about the dmc series dmc4 was on its way with more ppl and actually civilisation but still very plot dry and no i don't care about all them stupid fps everyone is into so games like this is really something i need to get my ps3 fixed for

On a side note...I don't watch a lot of it these days, but a Bayonetta Anime film or series? I'd totally buy that.
