I agree with you. I bought it the day after it came out. I think its good but can use some work.

Usually I agree with the reviews done by all of the G4 staff but I have to say I am not in agreement with the entirety of this review.
Points of disagreement:
1: Cover system. I don't think this cover systems feels any different than Gears 1 (didn't play 2) or Uncharted (1 or 2). Calling it un-inventive seems like a slight to a game that is following an established mechanic nowadays. It's like calling COD un-inventive since it's an FPS. It's part of the genre and pretty much everyone that uses a cover system that does it in a similar way.
2: Jet Pack flying: Flight controls are arguably the hardest type of control schemes to get used to for any flight game on a console and let's face it there aren't as many flight games as there are 1st and 3rd person shooters. The mechanic works just fine (you don't have a rudder but last I checked people don't come equipped with one either) and getting used to it is more of a player experience issue than a coding issue. It took me like 2 minutes to get used to it but I play IL-2, HAWX, Ace Combat etc.
Agreement:
1: Visuals. Not anything earth shattering but they aren't terrible either; a successful meh.
2: Ground Combat AI: Slight step backwards. The enemies take "cover" by leaving parts exposed to fire but I will say that I feel this is very similar to Uncharted man to man combat.
I won't knock the rating score because I agree with the general G4 concept that number and star ratings don't really convey the review use your brains and read/listen to the words. All in all though I feel that the review above feels a little to harsh on some points that weren't that bad.
