FFVII was more of a GreenePeace against the Japanese Whaler vibe than what I'm picking up from this one. Less "nature" involved it seems.

Now I know how Eric Cartman felt when the WII was coming out, and someone else in here mentioned the cryogenic sleep idea till March 8th, but we all know how that worked out.
As for the game, I hope they make a midnight release for it so I can stay up all night playing and not totally ignore my family and friends the next day. As for the theme music, the song choice of Leona Lewis is interesting, and while it doesn't fit as well as the Japanese version of the song, it still sounds sweet and I'll take either version if you ask me. Square Enix can do NO WRONG by me and they will have my money in their hands as many times as it takes. FFXIII for the win!.............. make mine PS3 thank you very much!

I think i know what square is doing; they're performing a Pegan orgy ritual to summon the spirit of FF7. Parallels include; a technological utopia, an underground resistance faction, the separation of classes, a female "Cloud", and the death of Aeris -- er Lightning's sister.

Of course, none of this is necessarily bad, because I've clocked over 200 hours on FF7, hey say what you will about the game, I waited 6 years to play it after I saw it on TV as a kid.

I get what you are saying about the the trailer, and rightfully so. I think they should have taken a page from the film industry on trailers by turn the music down a little ever time someone speaks so the song can still be heard, but doesn't take away from dialogue. Then turn it up when they when no one is speaking. I'm just saying....Stil enjoyed it sthough.

As game's get better, takes a lot for your system to play It. So is the game going to be like ME 1? You put the game in play a little bit and Bam! Your system has been killed, but I cause well find out when we get FF13 and ME2.

Square-Enix has really amped up the drama on this game. Can't wait to get it. It's a good year (well, for the first half anyway) for RPG fans with FFXIII, Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Awakening coming out. If only Star Wars: The Old Republic is coming out this year, it would be perfect.

I really don't like how they chose a song from Leona Lewis' album to be the theme for XIII in order to "appeal to western audiences". She's a great artist but not for XIII. Appeal to us? We've bought your games for the past TWELVE installments, why would you change the formula now? They should have stayed with their original plan and had Angela Aki do the theme from the Japanese version in English, or at least just kept the Japanese theme period. I'm sorry but it really kills the trailer for me, and it will probably kill the ending for me too. Music has always played a big part in this franchise and this choice is just terrible.

i really wish they could have kept the japanese theme song. "My hands" by Leona Lewis kinda ruined the trailer for me

Amazing. The last time i saw a game that looked this amazing was back in e3 of 05 (i think) when they showed off the killzone trailer. However, that game had years to before it finally released, and when it did it was only slightly underwhelming (to me anyway). Final Fantasy (however) has revamped what killzone did back then, by showing off this amazing trailer .....after trailer after trailer (3 or 4 in all) which shows that they are ready with the final product's standing condition. This tells me that this is going to be a major Final Fantasy release, unlike some others in the series. While i may not be a complete final fantasy fan, i am an rpg fan, and this looks like it could fill my apatite for a long time. Another reason might be that it's the first next gen final fantasy (not counting ff 11) so they're really pulling out all the stops to make this the biggest release in recent history. march 9? wow. that's REALLY early considering that i expected it to be a late summer early fall release. maybe there won't be a drought this summer........
