You know I'd watch Star Trek on tv when it's on and I wasn't really interested in a Star Trek MMO but man I love the planetary exploration they've added. Reminds me of Spore's expansion (which I didn't get though).

I am a really, really, really big Star Trek fan. I own the entire series on DVD and intend to buy the Remastered Origional Series on Blu-Ray. The only thing that dissapoints me as a fan is usually how bad the Star Trek games are.
The first Star Trek game that I felt ripped off on was Shattered Universe. That game was way too hard on the easiest difficulity setting. I really wanted to love this game, but as soon as I finished it, I took it back for credit at Game Stop. Ever since then, I have been really cautious about Star Trek games.
The first good Star Trek game I've played was Elite Force when it was ported to the PS2. I never expected a Star Trek game to take place as a first person shooter, but it really worked for me.
The other good Star Trek game was Legacy on the Xbox 360. I decided to rent this game because it wasn't perfect and I couldn't justified the $60 price tag at the time. In fact, I am still debating even buying it at an used $20 price tag at Game Stop.
At PAX 2009 in Seattle, I tried the single player demo of Star Trek Universe. I was cautious with my expectations with the game, but after having one of the deveolpers walk me through the game and talk about it as I played, I fell in love with this game. I honestly feel this will be one of the best Star Trek games ever. It takes the qualities of Legacy and Elite Force and does them so well. And I am proud to say I will be one of the early adopters of the Collector's Edition when it drops on Febuary 3.
