I loved Deus Ex 2........and Thief 3. Granted they were not as good as their brethren but still great games on their own.

I was... 8 when this decade began. With the Smash Bros. Melee, and the Metroid Primes. Then i got a PS2 and the Final Fantasy X's. Still need to beat those all the way through. Oh, my friend introduced me to Skies of Arcadia Legends for the Gamecube, god i love that game... still need to finish that one. The Megaman Collections, until those i hadn't really played Megaman, and god i love it so. Found Legends for the 64, never got to play 2... Still waiting on Megaman Legends 3! Devil May Cry, how could i forget about those! Oh how i love Capcom.

Oh, and the countless hours playing Halo, Oblivion... my Morrowind is broken... =,(

Wow, don't want this too long. Thanks for that Feedback guys, really touches a nerve. Also, is it just me, or do Abbie and Rob have festive hair?

    Oh, and Majora's Mask!

As campy as it sounds, the game of the decade for me was Halo 2. I do not think it was the best game but the time I had with my friends playing that game will probally never be replicated. KOTOR was the best single player experince I ever had with oblivion and mass effect nipping at its heals

A game that has stood out to me, and the feeling I got from it was never felt again...Dark Cloud. I remember dying alot but I remember loving the feel of being on a quest to restore villages to what they once were. I remember beating the game being bummed that the game was over until I found out that once you beat the game a 100 floor level awaits with strong enemies. The ability to build and upgrade weapons...water, fire, ice, wind, holy, fragments of other weapons to build an ultimate or combining two different weapons to create a new on...I loved it

i was 9 when the decade began and the first game that i got when i bought a ps2 was ff10 and i just remember that every one looked so pretty in that game. also i would agree that the metroid prime series are some of the greatest games ever and after i gave the three original games away to my cousin i bought the trilogy. I would also agree that kingdom hearts deserves a mention those games are epic.

    What about Half-Life 2?
That game had a HUGE influence in the ways of how video games were made in the future.
How a story is told from beginning to end.
Game play with the Gravity Gun.
Emotional Connection to the characters, Aleyx, Gordon, etc.

    So yea.....

I played Deus Ex, but did not play it at the beginning of the decade. While difficult, the graphics did not really throw me off.

I don't understand why everybody loves Fallout 3 so much. I've tried to love it. I bought all the DLC, explored everything, and spent countless hours on it trying to figure out what makes people love it so much. It just doesn't make sense to me. I didn't find it particularly immersive either. Fallout 3 can't even compare to Oblivion for me.
I am surprised that they didn't mention Bioshock or Mass Effect in this though. Those are two games that definitely define this decade for me. Bioshock was the greatest story that I have ever heard told in a video game. With how it drew on Ayn Rand's objectivism, while portraying Andrew Ryan as the objectivist character with a fatal flaw, telling the story by way of audio diary and allowing you to fill in the blanks, and the plasmid/gun gameplay was unbelievable. Mass Effect allowed an experience where you really built your own character more than any game I had played before. You decided how he looked and interacted, and that whole trend really evolved because of it.
Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Oblivion, three games that went unmentioned and defined this decade in games for me.

Anyone care to postulate any theories concerning Abbie's Nb (I'm assuming Niobium) pin? Perhaps she's trying to raise awareness of transitional metals.

I loved Fallout 3, which would be my game of the decade, for all the reasons Rob said. I'd just be be-bopping along and come across some building, sneak around in it, pop some heads, and find some cool piece of loot in a safe on the top floor. I was pissed when you DIED at the end and couldn't keep exploring. So pissed I went back and killed that blond, which still didn't let you explore more.

Mass Effect is right there as well, and I probably played that more than Fallout 3. And I also like GTA: Vice City a lot. It just seemed like more of a concise experience than San Andreas, and didn't have an entire section of the city get effectively closed off by shotgun wielding mafiosi (I'm looking at you GTA 3). I should go back and play Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, but they seem so sad.

I was 17 when the decade began, and my first GotD would have to be Beyond Good and Evil. With great gameplay and the story was amazing, it's one of the very few games that I have played and beaten at least a dozen times.
Later in 200#, GTA3 took the top down rebellion game and made it 3d sandbox. One of the defining moments for gaming and it really took the series from a troublemaker into a legit game.
Finally the game that corrupted the world, World of Warcraft. After playing for nearly the entire 5yr life of the game, I've finally kicked what some call the worst, hardest habit to kick. You don't get patches to ease it into your veins, or support groups (I'm sure there are some out there now), but going through it and looking at your computer and thinking of the visuals and the people and the instances. Gotta go...

Games I'm looking forward to in the coming years.
Beyond Good and Evil 2. the teaser trailer came out almost 2 years ago at E3 to an amazing cheer, But financial times broke and we're forced to wait.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Taking all of old world that we've all grown to love and know better than we know our own towns and Blizzard is destroying it. Looks amazing.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. NOW WITH YOSHI!

Well, Here's a generic holiday greeting and a Happy new year to G4, the staff and my future ex-wife Olivia Munn.

Defiantly a monumental decade in the history of gaming. 100% agree with all favorites. Own each and everyone of those games. I hope that any new gamers in this upcoming decade don't miss out on these games. Great show you guys. Have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
